Natural Selection Crashes When Entering Game

I got Natural Selection working great, and I must say it is an AMAZING mod! I love it, but my friend can't seem to get it working. When he tries to create/join a game he gets this error:

Host_Init: Couldn't Load gfx/palette.lmp

Then it crashes to desktop right after that.

Please help!

And while you guys are being so kind, he usually gets motion-sickness in a first-person view. Is there anyway to change some variables in Natural Selection to get a third-person view, even if it only works on a cheat enabled server or something.

Breakthrough

There is no way to change from 1st to 3rd person in Natural Selection... I <b><u>think</u></b> you can change the Field of View, and make it more comfortable for your friend...

As always, did your friend re-install the game yet? Try downloading it from a different server mirror...

I think it's really silly too, but he claims that he gets motion sickness so whatever...lol...he should just tuff it out but I can't change his mind. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Anyway, he's gonna do a complete reinstall of the game and everything tomorrow. I looked up this problem on Google and some other forums came up about other mods...some people actually could not figure out how to get it fixed, they reinstalled and all. Hopefully tomorrow the reinstall will go great.

By the way, how do you change the field of view in Half-Life?

Not sure, but in your config look at "viewsize".
