Saying that most news I pick up off the old interweb.
So yeh pretty unbiased.

I tend to surf both news.bbc.co.uk and www.cnn.com. I'd rate BBC over CNN for reasons described above and because the BBC's website is laid out much better than CNN's.
I'm not sure I trust either to give completely unbiased outlooks though. While the BBC may seem to be unbiased, there's also the question of what isn't there...I'd very much like to hear of other news sources on the web for this reason.
for the middle east news
cnn and bbc for the rest of the world
On the other hand, CNN is just a corporation, run by CEO/President Jonathan Klein. They give news and that's just about it - generally American-centric news, at that (although this is also an unfair comparison; The BBC does a lot of international stories in Africa, etc. etc., but that's just because Britain has historically had its claws in a million other countries).
So it's really an unfair comparison. CNN is only a fraction of the size of the BBC. Even our PBS (essentially an underfunded BBC ripoff) is nowhere near as popular or cultural as the BBC is.
Maybe you Brits just like culture and stuff? But here in America, we like reading all about aging serial killers and California wildfires that seriously threaten homes on The Hill.
PS: And you should hit up Al Jazeera for Middle-eastern news

Don't we pay television license to the BBC? And have crappy shows like Eastenders? Seems like no sponsors/advertisements means us paying out for pure c**p on the telly.

I think it's more like American news networks go for the sensational news coverage analysis looks while the rest of the world go for the boring facts reportings, seriously.
You can see a big difference between CNN and CNN International.
I usually watch Fox or CNN....

So friggin true, it pisses me off. I'm an American, but why in the royal hell is it when the London Bombings happened, the only thing anyone on CNN ever said was "Is there a chance this could happen in America? Is there a chance they came over here?" blahdee blahdee SUYF LET ME KNOW WTH HAPPENED IN BRITAIN. It took me several people and the internet to figure out how many bombings there were over there, as only one station had anything on it at all, and that was for barely an hour(and I had to go to school). That night- "The London Bombers, in America?"- go to hell, CNN. It isn't hard to get better than you
Edit: And in all seriousness, I get all my news either from the internet, or from the Daily Show. What I find funny is, DS skews EVERYTHING negatively, and equally negatively. Its funny, and 95% of it is truth & facts. Daily Show may save news as we respect it

*disregard British tabloids*
I don't get ant BBC television stations where I live, but the information on their website is great.

Dont know what CNN you were watching, but the one i was watching had coverage on the bombings for nearly 2 days straight, sure the was the occasional, "Could this happen here?" talk with some blowhard from there network claiming to be some sort of specialist, but all in all it wasnt that bad.
i think i will stick to tv2
www.tv2.dk
but wait, thats not cnn or bbc!
Kharaa News Network ftw

What the hell? No one blasted you for watching Fox yet?
You mean english accent right? right?

I've never seen Sky News. I though it was a cheap rip-off of CNN for British ppl.
It's where I get all my non-/. news.
