Router Woes

Recently, my router is dropping the connections of both the computers in my house. One is wired in, the other (this one) is connected wirelessly.

It happens at completely random times, possibly more often while i'm playing BF2, or any other online games. It only disconnects for about 20 seconds, at most, but that's enough for me to lose my connection to the server, and wait another 5 minutes to reconnect (assuming the server isn't full).

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem, and if not, I need ideas for a new router. (needs wireless and wired capabilites)

[EDIT:]Forgot to mention, i have a U.S. Robotics USR8054 router.

[EDIT2:]Also, sometimes I am unable to connect to the router from this computer at all, but as soon as I ping the router from the other computer, I can connect on this one.

I have a Linksys wireless router and this happens to me on occasion, but for a shorter period of time, like about 5 seconds. The D-Link DI-624 got good ratings for its long range and strong connectivity. Alos, do you have any 2.4GHZ cordless phones in your house? Those will cripple wireless networks according to PCWorld. Also, make sure your router is far away from the a microwave oven if you live in a one-story house or apartment.
