Is Usb 2.0 Backwards Compatible With 1.0?

So, at the end of the summer im looking to buy a PSP. However, reading the specs off Newegg, i notice that its USB 2.0 (mini-B).

Im pretty sure i dont have 2.0 on my computer (No use for it) so is it backwards compatible (with the slower speeds ofcourse)? Just so i can put music on it and stuff...

Yes, it's backwards compatible... It'll just be a whole lot slower.

Wouldn't that make it like... scalable rather then backwards compatible? I mean it would be backwards compatible if the 2.0 could use 1.0 stuff, but not the other way around...

Ok, i have a new question for you people.

I have a wired network in my home already. Is it possible to add <a href='http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?childpagename=US%2FLayout&packedargs=c%3DL_Product_C2%26cid%3D1115416827926&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper' target='_blank'>this</a> to one of my ports on my existing router and have it interact with my PSP?

If that wont work, is there another product that will do that?

No, you need a wireless broadcaster, that is a receiver with an ethernet port to connetc things like Xbox's to an existing Wireless network.

You need a wireless access point. I think the PSP is 802.1b/g compatable, I don't know, you'd have to check that yourself.

well a bridge should work I would think...

All a bridge does is pass data between its two ends, so any data that it receives on the wireless side will pass to the xBASE-T port and vice versa.

The router would see it as a single device and so long as you only have one device talking to it you would be fine... If you wanted to connect multiple devices over the wireless network you might have a problem.

<b>EDIT</b> NVM, i just found at that linksys has a wireless router that also has 4 ports for existing wired computers. I think ill just get that and sell my wired router on Ebay. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I suggest the Netgear or D-Link one, but of course that's only because of my extensive hatred for Linksys.
