Booted From Gameplay

Booted from Gameplay after a few seconds
After I join a server, I am booted in under 10 seconds, and receive a message in my console that says:

Host_Error: UserMsg: Not Present on Client 253

The message is always the same, BUT the number at the end (253) changes each time. I've seen 253, 151, and some others.

"Client #" is just your particular client number, which is why it's changing each time.

Do you happen to run a Linksys router? If so, then that's the problem, and you've blatantly not Googled before posting. Do so and find your solution.

If not, post with details of net graph 3 and your net hardware setup. (Wired, wireless, hubs, routers, switches, etc)

Googling it didnt help much but ask more questions.

My net graph showed a Loss of 85 then went down quickly to 0, and a Choke of 1.

Strangly enough, I had this problem about 2 weeks ago. You can see my claim here:http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95862

First of all, I thought it was a problem with my computer. It turns out you're probably using a Linksys router, either BEFSR41 (version 1 or 3), BEFSR11 or BEFSR81.
First, check what type of router and model it is.

If it is linksys, I can suggest a few things to you. I just bought a new router and hooked it up because I was fed up with Linksys, but there is a solution. I spent about 3 hours on the phone with Linksys support. Please, PLEASE make sure your firmware is up-to-date. The site can be a bit misleading, but make sure your model and type of router are matched up perfectly.

I'm actually going to try giving you a range of solutions provided to me:
ds^depot said: Open ports 27015 and 27016 on your router.

Lito said: make a shortcut to NS VIA right clicking it on steam. Right click on the shortcut and goto properties. For the Target, add after "ns" add +clientport 27007
27007 can be any port. Forward this port to your computer via your router.

Linksys Support said:
Ports for BEFSR41 that need tobe opened to play Half-Life 1:
STEAM-HL1
TCP
6008, 7002
UDP
27005, 27010, 27011, 27015

Ports for BEFSR41 that need tobe opened to play Half-Life 2:
STEAM-HL2
TCP
27020 - 27050
UDP
1200, 27000-27015

Although, your best guess.. is to call your router's manufacturer. Thats what they are there for and they have people waiting 24/7 on call to help you. They won't bite your head off.
