And say a short prayer
Captain Montgomery Scott, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and may the wind ever be at your back. You have served long and hard, bringing us comfort, peace, joy, and jubilation with your antics aboard the Enterprise. You will no doubt be in our memories for many years to come, and you will be in our hearts for eternity. In best Maritime tradition, I wish you clear horizons, good friends, gentle seas, and the peace you well deserve.

Make it so... Mr. Scott.
I know it's a little late... with him dying on the 20th... but I still wanted to bring but a moment's solem silence into everyone's lives so that we may remember him because, let's be real, for but a character in a TV show and a Movie... he touched us all in some way.
If you cannot be mature about this, I respectfully ask that you leave now, and leave any sardonic or sarcastic remarks for elsewhere. This is, in fact, a deeply emotional thing for me... I had the chance to meet him (the actor, James Doohan) once... and only once. He and I talked... and he was surprised how, for a young kid (I was 7 at the time) I knew so much about the show, and knew a lot of the science behind it. He is the cause for my love of science... and he will always be one of my heros. His death is a tragedy in my life... as little as I knew him, I felt he was a friend and a teacher and a trusted ally.
Please... pay your respects, if but for a moment, and give him a proper sendoff, the pipes every playing for him. (yes, click this first)
Edit- Yes, I know this is old... and I'm slow. I thought at first it was a joke, and only now found out it wasn't. I've been having some bad times lately, and haven't even seen a single consecutive minute of TV to be honest... I even missed the shuttle launch... so please do not tell me this is old. Thank you med head for keeping it to a PM, I appreciate that
