Keyboards Keep Getting Cooler

I probably couldn't explain it and do justice.
I recall hearing of something like this a while back but never seeing an actual concept image of it in action. Anyway it'd seem a bit awkward trying to type on something without giving some kind of response back, hopefully not just me.

Yea thats cooler, but a portable keyboard is a cool idea. I seen another laser keyboard thing before, but I can see problems with it. Typists like me wouldent like it too much cause you cant feel the keys <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
win. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I think I'd have trouble typing on a keyboard that really didn't exist. Remapping keys on the optimus is a great idea though...
[edit]Well, if the keys are so specially weighted & the pressing mechanism designed like it claims, then I guess it's not throwing practicality out the window. But let's face it: it's all about impressing your friends <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

*chuckle*. Nice.
Of course, it would be a simple task to blank the keys on a normal keyboard and get the same effect. Other than all that uber-l33t hype stuff.

That's the coolest thing I've seen in some time. I'm not sure if I'd get it, though. I'm very picky about the "feel" of my interface devices, and I'm not sure I like the proportions and whatnot. I'd have to try it out first.
And the optimus looks awesome except it's too long for my keyboard drawer/pull-out shelf thing.

Only when I'm playing new games. I know my keys well enough for typing and FPS games, but sometimes RTS and RPGs have crazy **** default binds...
[edit] Also, it looks nice next to my case with its blue LEDs. The power supply also has them. [/edit]

Sad thing is, I could actually do that! I type about 120 WPm when I'm typing from memory with about 95% accuracy... so long as I don't have to use the number keys or ****+number key combos <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Nice! That's the keyboard that I've been planning on getting when I build my own computer.

I know what you mean. I can't believe that there still isn't any new switch technology close to the snappy feel of buckling spring keyboards.
