ok i can join games and play but only for a bit till i get booted to the main screen with this error msg

Does this happen all the time or just sometimes?

If only sometimes, it's just Steam's **** coding that's causing it. You might want to reinstall NS/Steam if this occurs on every server you try to join

Random googling suggests it could be related to Linksys routers. (Why is it that they always mess up half-life?) Do you happen to use one?
