    Well, it couldn't hold humans in its present state, no. And I doubt it ever could in the past. But if it was warmer in the past, and there was liquid water, chances are something was alive. Where theres water, there is life. All it would take was a few simple organisms, and those could have even hitched a ride on a piece of material blown off the earth.
