Army's New Recruiting Tactics.
<div class="IPBDescription">They aim low.</div> I'll spare you all but the essential details as I'm sure none of you are to overly concerned about what goes on in my life. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've been visiting colleges with my sister to help her make sense of the mess and offer her advice that actually helps rather then the bland generic crap that every college gives you on those worthless pamphlets.
Now my sister is considering becoming a nursing major and maybe joining ROTC with said major. So the last time I went with her, which was also the first, we checked it out.
Standing behind the ROTC display was a pretty good looking woman, to be modest about it. She put on a nice show and seemed to know what she was doing.
Of course a good looking woman in uniform drew the attention of nearly every guy in the place (no way half of them there we're seriously considering ROTC) and I left quickly (as I hate crowds) and let my sister listen in.
Now none of this would have ever rang any bells in my head if the same thing hadn’t happened today but without the crowd and with an even better looking woman.
This 2nd Lt. must have gotten a lot of attention in class. She was drop dead gorgeous. Now maybe you don't share my taste in woman but I 'm sure you would have agreed with me. Nice healthy build, Beautiful blue eyes, natural blonde hair, and the cutest little button nose.
Plus she’s a nurse which gave her plenty to talk with my sister about, and I made sure to engage in as much polite conversation as possible myself. Which later turned into me nudging my sister away as I listened to the lovely details of her training. Long story she gave me her number incase my sister has any questions, which I thought was nice of her.
Anyway, I rambled on…
I think the part of this topic for discussion is supposed to be: Is the Army using its best looking cadets to entice prospective recruits?

Nothing sexier than a good looking woman... in uniform...with a BIG GUN!
It's nothing to be ashamed of nor to be enraged about, it's simply a recruitment tactic, like Godsmack and America's Army.

Ashamed? Enraged? Hardly.
Maybe you didn't read my post but I far from complaining about it. Just thought I'd bring it up as a point of discussion.
I’m not saying they should put forth the worst, or even the average, but if the past two ladies (and only woman at these things) are any representation of what the Army is doing on a larger scale then I think we might have a new version of the “booth babes” from E3. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

America's Army taught me that I'm more likely to be shot in the back by my own teammates, then have my sexuality insulted as well as accusations made towards my mother's sex life. If it's a recruitment tool, it's a damn poor one.

I learned the army has blurry textures and lag combined with poor computer specs makes it hard to aim down the sights!
Besides, everybody knows that all the hot tail joins the Air Force and Navy.
Besides, militarization is what makes the country great. If we have more of it, then they get more recruits. Seems like a good solution to me.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get this much sarcasm out of a white shirt!?
Lets not get all cynical about the Military Recruitment in general; it’s that or the draft people.

Two actually, although the second one was certainly an upgrade, perhaps a new model? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I have no idea other then what I saw, anyone else check these things out recently?
I mean they did have that huge recruiter meeting not to long ago when they ceased all activities for a day; perhaps this is what came of that meeting.
“Hey…I got an idea…Boobs!"
“Thank you General…”
Yea it could be an excellent opportunity for her. I'm not going to lecture her on the possible dangers of joining the Army, as she is aware of the current climate and honestly I'm in no position to lecture her on something I have never done.
However that isn't going to stop me from calling up that recruiter and taking advantage of her offer to meet with us for lunch to discuss her options and what not.
As far as I can tell my sister is very enthused about the idea and my mother won’t admit it in front of my sister but money from the government would be a huge help seeing as I seem to be rather expensive to educate. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You’re a dirty, filthy, slanderous, disparaging liar lair pants engulfed in fire.
The thought had not once crossed my mind, I assure you.
WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the War in Iraq ... there's most ALWAYS a war going on. So you enlist for a non-combative mos and request duty in some exotic foreign country. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I would speak up if I was worried about her ending up in some fox-hole in Iraq.
You can go to basic training, then pick one of the many "jobs" that has to deal with "keeping the peace" in locale such as Alexanderia, Tokyo, Hawaii, and etc
I know all the men who are the recruiters are not recruited for said job based solely upon their "skills" looks always play a part..
If my I hadn't finally got a real sig, I'd put this in it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But getting on topic, I can't really blame them. Now, if they ever use the same tactics to try to sell <i>religion</i>, that'll be hillarious <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
