what else is there besides Radioshack?
I'm looking for a rather specific power adapter. Regular power plug on one end to stick into wall, 12v 1.3amp output on the other end with a circular connector of a certain size. CompUSA and Best Buy have both claimed they don't carry such adapters sold separately. Other than RadioShack, which I'll try next, which other stores may have what I'm looking for?

If you don't want to try RadioShack, then you can go for the online approach.
Google Search(Power Supplies)
A quick google can give you many options. Also Marik, not all power supplies (wall warts) are regulated if you are to buy from an online source, they have regulated and unregulated.
Regulated being the voltage stays at what they say is the output, more or less.
Unregulated being there is a variance in there, usually betwen 4 to 9 volts, up or down which can cause issues in more sensitive electronics, but not always. These are also less expensive.
This would be region-specific. As already noted Wal-Mart, Target, and K-Mart carry them here. Supers on the W and K btw.
You have to consider, not only does merchandise carried differ between regions in any given retail chain, but it also differs significantly between stores in the same region, or even in the same city. :>
