Just Saw The Dumbest Thing While Playing Today...

<div class="IPBDescription">Traitors attacking our own buildings....</div> Today, while I was playing NS, I experienced the stupidest thing... A person, on our own team, switched from the aliens team, to our marines team... he then proceeded to attack and destroy our Command Center, and All of our turret factories. After he was done, he chanted "Alien Friend!" "Alien Friend!" several times... But, when we tried to kill him, we could not, it must have been "Building FF" or something... This is really dumb, and hopefully something will be done to stop this crap... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Was the server running in tournament mode? Public servers shouldn't be doing that for the very reason you described.

Almost like tfc where people tossed nades and quickly changed teams.
Although on tfc they acctually got kills this is even worse.

Yea I saw the same thing, i don't think it was in a serveer playing turnoment though...and the guy did it for like 3 games in a row..most annoying.

There shouldn't be a way for a player to EVER cause damage to his own team, unless the server is in tournament mode. There's no friendly fire option, only tournament mode. Simple as that.

On a related note, 2 days ago on this server I was playing on, this whiny lil **obscenity** named .tsn. - Ninj4 crashed the server...how is this able to happen?

The only time I ever destroyed one of our buildings was when I had just gotten heavy armor and a hmg. The commander in all his finite wisdom put a sentry in me. I had to shoot my way out.

I've also seen this on several occassions now. Probably about 10 rounds, where some marine will destroy his own buildings. Ofcourse, I'm on aliens, and couldn't give a darn, heh.

Anyway, the server was NOT in tournament mode, and this happened on a couple different servers.

I think this and the turret factory bug both need to be addressed ASAP.
