The main page has been updated and I just have to say, omg, I want this game. I have never been one for the whole hype thing, with teasers on an unreleased games web page, BUT with the success of wolf:ET and the beauty of doom 3.... I am getting very drawn into this game already.

And the thought of 32kx32k textures only taking up 8mb of video ram is unbelievable.

Wasn't too keen on the 30 mins I gave the original ET, but I've been waiting for this for a while.

The only game I'm looking at since my PS2 is in its death throws. Damned laser.

The problem with WolfET, imo, is its another ww2 game. I mean, I find it fun to play, but it is essentially just another ww2 shooter.

At this time, we don't have many FPS set in the future (oh the irony of the forum I am posting in ><) except doom 3 and quake 4 (yes yes I know, UT 2k3 and 2k4 with soon 2k7, but seriously... hasn't that been milked to death already D:), and from my experience so far, doom 3 is awesome for co-op games, and quake 4 is great for deathmatch. What we don't have many of are teamplay based futuristic FPS with capture the zone gameplay. The new battlefield thats been announced could be good too, BUT, with the direction dice are taking bf2 the gameplay may not be to my liking unfortunately (check the patchnotes for the as of yet unreleased 1.3).

Another thing I like, is that splash damage has proven many nay sayers wrong about the doom 3 graphics engine (will never support ambient lighting, and other like things). Also, even though it will be shipping with 32 player maps, as the highest player count (as of last news about it I read) it has been suggested (Its not said if its just previewer hopes, or actual word from splash damage) that it will support upto 128 player.

I... gotta stop reading about this game. D:

P.S IGN has gameplay footage - not much - but its cool.

My sentiments exactly- just as some people hate futuristic shooters, I hate WW2 games.

I enjoyed the original Call Of Duty- that's about it.

I'm also starting to get board of modern shooters- sometimes I just don't enjoy getting headshot from the otherside of the map by an AK-47 spray.

But BF2-style gameplay, set in the future, with big guns, mechs and tanks, with 2 different sides with genuinely differing styles, optimised for low-end PCs, in a hugely popular universe.

    Sign me up.

I'm contemplating a PS3 or PC upgrade in the winter. NS:S and ET:QW are the only things making me contemplate the latter.

    (P.S. Only thing I don't like is the word "Strogg". It sounds like a horrid B-movie species to me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> I guess the developer's didn't predict the success they had with Q2!)
