<div class="IPBDescription">A possible way to make buildings stick...</div>For marines a builder would get special spikes that he can attach to the ceiling or walls and then pick up a small building package that can be mounted and then built on the wall like a turret...
As for aliens they could have an attack like webs that would splatter a gooey substance that attaches to a surface and a gorge can build a building on top of it. It could also be used to splatter marines and create a web-like effect that slows marines down... of course this should take up a lot of energy on the gorge's part...
Building on walls and ceilings should be possible in the HL:S engine...

Like I said though, I'd love to see alien growths sticking out of all surfaces, but I honestly can't see the need for it really.
as for marines blocking off corridors with buildings or even aliens this could be prevented by creating a build structure with a certain configuration. Think of a ceiling fan lamp that has more than one lightbulb. The actual fan is the TF and the lightbulbs the turrets. So this would limit the number of turrets allowed to prevent spamming in a more configurable pattern and build limits in a certain radius should be enforced.
Perhaps maps that could possible have this blocking problem be corrected by making the points a bit more open or have "no-build" zones on them to prevent this type of exploit.
But marine structures should only be placable on the ground. Reasons:
- Without jp its almost impossible to build structures at the ceiling.
- Commander could have problems with placing buildings
- Marines are human beeings and no flys, their technology is groundbased. Thats why they have artificial gravity on their ships <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
