<!--coloro:#006600--><span style="color:#006600"><!--/coloro--><b>When I connect to certain servers, HL crashes me to my desktop after it says the normal... verifying and downloading resources...verifying resources...then crash. It only happens on certain servers and have yet to find out what is the problem. My only guess right now is that my custom content since the last update crashes me somehow. All my custom skins and sounds are from NS arms lab so its not like they are my own so i cant see how thats the problem but seems they are linked to the crashing somehow. Ive tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling steam and NS with no luck...but...I never did try it with the default skins, cause would hope skins wouldnt crash you, else we have a bit of a problem with the coding. My only guess right now is that the coding is messed and when "allow scripting" cvar is OFF it crashes my custom skins. Anyone have any other ideas?</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Im not sure why it happens either, but it does. Uninstalling IE7 will solve your problem.
IE7 causes problems with games running on Steam. Any time you connect to a server that has you download custom content, the game will crash instead. IE7 is easy to uninstall luckily (Add/Remove Programs), and after a restart the problems will be gone.

Why hasnt anyone reported it to Microsoft??? Im sure they would look into it.
What makes you think it <i>hasn't</i> been reported to MS?
Maybe its a registry key?? Anyone look into exactly what it could be? Want me to list what it installs? Maybe we can fix it here.
I know this is resolved, but I thought I'd plea to the OP to NEVER POST IN GREEN TEXT EVER AGAIN.

Maxthon is a browser that uses the IE engine and adds things like tabbed browsing. Firefox is better.
