Turrets Or Turrents?

<div class="IPBDescription">Obviously it's turrets...</div> Obviously I know it's turrets and not turrents but so far I've met two people who constantly calls them turrents. Turrent is not a word, it's turrets. Where do people get this misconception from??? How many people have you met who called them turrents?

It's a common problem with all games. People can't spell a simple word or use correct grammar, so a few of them get it wrong (or simply typo it), and other people see that and think it's correct. They start using the word incorrectly, and then even people that thought they were spelling it right before change because the misspelling is more popular. See: altar/alter in WC3, or duel/dual in Diablo 2.

"Teh" seems to be more popular than "the" these days. And something all those smilies reminded me of... If NS gets really popular we are probably gonna get stuff like "Si3Ge C4nn0N si for T3h l0s0rz d00D!" and "0nlY N00bs uSe Bl1nK!!1111111!!!!!1" What would you say to something like that?

Turret -> Turrents is a natural progression in language, eventually it will be spelled turrents too, since it's easier to pronounce. At least that's what the linguistics class that I'm failing says.

It's like Americans spelling 'colour' 'color.' It seems to be hard for them to spell a word that's a whole SIX LETTERS long, so they need to omit some.

Are you retarded? Color is english, "colour" is how brit's spell it, look in any dictionary.

For a start I think you'll find us Brits <b>Invented</b> the English language which is why some people call us English instead of British. Look in a dictionary? Now when the pilgrims ran away to your country it was spelt color, the language in general was more archaic back then. Your language hasnt really evolved that much (except for slang and a horrible accent) whereas the English language has. Technically you could say that your way of spellings is closest to the original but then... its our language, we are perfectly within our rights to change spellings and you guys just havent caught up.

Nukem: Mind the language please, I doubt that any reply on this thread denotes a sexual preference at all. Unless you were speaking in English instead of American for a second and used it as a term for ciggarette.

I dont mind typos and some people are bad spellers because of dyslexia or because English is their second language so some people have a valid reason. All those who speak English as a first language and are perfectly fit have no excuses and deserve a punch for being such pillocks.
