Viewing Demo Files

I was just wondering how the hell one can watch .dem files properly? Ive had this problem also before and I think quite many others too.

Its simple as you ran a demo file and few seconds into the game it freezes down. It randomly keeps going for some seconds if you move the PoV but nothing more. Im now trying to expieriement it a little bit but I would appreciate some more info of this beast.

    there are two ways to watch a demo:

    <!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->In console, either type: 1. "playdemo demoname" or 2. "viewdemo demoname"<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

    Viewdemo seems to work better as it gives you a little control bar such as rewind, fast forward, pause, etc also it is less glitchier than playdemo.

    Side note: with viewdemo, it is a bit laggy for a first minute you watch it. That's because it loads up the whole thing as opposed to playdemo that does it on the fly. If you pause the movie, it will load significantly faster. Open up your console and wait for it to tell you when the demo is fully loaded. (It will go through all the text chat that was going on during the demo and then the final line should say something like "demo is completely loaded")

    Wasn't there the usecache option?
