I don't think the Russians would much care for that.
Who cares what the russians think. Months ago our group moved to RA space and went hunting, we killed a bunch of RA battleships and battlecruisers within 8 hours of arriving, and within a day had made the RA KOS list. Their main tactic was the log-off log-on trick, hows that for tacky.

The Russians are persistent though. And not too bad at defense.
Rich buggers too. It's hard to ransom them though, because they don't understand english so well. There were too many pirates when we were there though, we prefer quiet areas where we can reign supreme.

Why? so you can actually afford to buy the T2 large railguns? You might as well sell your liver and kidney while you're at it... T2 large guns are the devil.

No, I can afford the guns. It's the Megathron that is the problem.

I tried this a while ago and didn't continue since I didnt have the money. I'm probably going to get in again once I get back to school, but I have one question, since I'm actually taking the time to plan some of my things out this time around. What would you guys recommend a noob Gallente pick for a starting Frigate?
I'm a newbie myself and can't give you great advice, but if you're asking about true newbie frigates and not tech 2 frigates, you should probably just get the most expensive non-mining frigate you see. for the minmatar, it's the rifter and costs about 250k, I'm sure the gallente have a similar breed
iirc, it's imicus for mining and tristan or incursus for fighting.
you should probably pick a race with decent attributes for what you wanna do. I don't know how good/bad the new gal bloodline is, but the 2 "old" ones were rather sucky for combat characters (low perc/wp). Just don't do achura/monk like 80% of the other new chars plz <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
You can always "respec" if you decide to pick another race, but want to fly gallente ships.

Yeah, when I last played I noticed how ridiculous it was with everyone going Achura. The other races don't really appeal to me much as far as 'rp' goes (even though i sort of realize this is fairly low).
As far as what I want to do - I was hoping to start more or less as a tackler / miner and go from there. Pretty much the only reason I'm not going Caldari, is the crapton of them, and the fact that their ships are ugly (although I might train up to a rokh eventually, I hear those are pretty ######)
the new bloodlines have better stats so that newer players pick them and (in theory) "catch up" to the older chars. i'd give several organs for the achura's stats...

My Achura alt is 2 months younger than my Gallente main, and it just recently passed my main in total SP. And I even trained Industrial 5 and Mining Barge 5 on my alt before doing advanced Per/Will.
But now I need a few more skills and a Raven for my alt.
I'm flying my first cruiser now, and I'm getting my butt handed to me in missions. what's the secret? I have my Rupture outfitted with some artillery but it does crap damage, probably due mostly to the signature radius thing... but it seems to TAKE full damage, and it's a slow bucket of bolts that has trouble keeping distance for arty... I just don't get it, I was able to breeze through any level 1 mission with my tech 1 frigate or destroyer, but level 2 missions are eating my cruiser alive...
Tell us your full outfitting and we'll take a look at it. You'll want to tank according to your ship/skills, doing a lot of damage fast isn't important if you can sit there indefinitely and just slowly wear down their health.
Artillery isn't so great for mission running, you just can't take advantage of the range on smaller ships. Get the lower caliber medium autocannons. I don't know much about projectile turrets (Partial to hybrids myself) but the smallest caliber ones should have the best tracking and damage, making them good for the smaller targets. Also, if you haven't done it already make sur eyou are fitting standard launchers for the frigs, they should tear them apart.

Does anyone have any good trading tips or good trade routes they are willing to share. I've been looking around for a good way to make money however the best i have come up with is 350k profit over 5 jumps which is pretty crap.

Imagine buying an 18 wheeler to take your two kids to soccer practice and back.
And then replacing the wheels on the 18 wheeler with playdough.
And the engine with coconuts.
