Huh? That makes about as much sense as saying 'Fades are a waste of 50 res since if marines know how to stand in a group and always have heavy weapons they go down so easily it's better spending the res on OCs and ambush as skulk.'

If you have you should know that this is far from the case. A good lerk will first soften the marines by taking armourpoints off them with their spores, and then distracting them (pancaek around teh room lolz!) making the marines much easier targets to pick off by skulks. The nano on veil and chem/cargo on tanith are two prime examples where lerks are great for clearing the marines out of the room.
3.1 is biased towards the aliens, and ns has pretty much been ever since free ups for skulks. We're not saying that marines can't win, we're just stating that the aliens have the upper hand.

I don't specifically recall backwards Lerk flight ever being in a release build. It is something we tested for 3.1 but was never released to anyone outside the PT group as we were unable to get it working as we had intended.

He's talking about the internal 3.1x builds.
We all know about the backwards flight in 1.0 and 2.0

Spore isn't useful enough to stop a team building a phase gate in a cruicial position or a second hive, or killing early nodes. A good team knows how to spread themselves accordingly and a good commander knows when to med and which marines to med depending on the battle.
