How Long Could It Possibly Take To Set Up A Forum/Website?

<div class="IPBDescription">For A Non-Functionally-Disabled Person</div>The database on my friend's forum/website either broke or got hacked a few days ago (we're not sure which yet), and he wants me to fix it. Now, I've set up a few smaller forums before on free forum websites like <a href="http://www.proboards.com" target="_blank">http://www.proboards.com</a>, and that's the main reason my friend asked me to do this, but I'm nervous because his website and forum were really popular and experienced very heavy traffic. While I was examining the database a little bit to try to diagnose the problem, I noticed it had over a 1,000,000 posts and 30,000 members (ONE MILLION POSTS / THIRTY THOUSAND MEMBERS <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":0" border="0" alt="wow.gif" /> )!!!
I've decided what I'm going to do is set up as soon as possible a temporary website and forum, and once that is done I'll work on repairing the old site, restoring the old posts, and optimizing the code. The reason I'm going to get the temporary website and forum running right away is that it's a big, active community, and I want them to be able to have a central location to discuss their common interest and stay in touch. I'm worried that if there's significant downtime it could severely damage the strength of the community that my friend has worked to build and that the members of his community have worked so hard to maintain. Basically, I want to make sure my friend's community isn't crippled by a long site outage. Also, I'm worried that an extended delay would make my friend appearincompetent as a small business owner.
I am being payed for my work on this, but since it's my friend I naturally offered to work for a very low wage. I'm trying to figure out about how much work I've agreed to. I used to work in IT, and I'm non-functionally-disabled, but I don't have experience in setting up and hosting files for a high volume, high-traffic website. Now, I'm a big Natural Selection fan, and I've been noticing the rate of progress in getting the NS.com forum back up, which is roughly analogous in scale to the project I'm undertaking. I'm really worried because if it's going to take me a year to get his site running, there's no way I can swing that.
<b>So, I ask you guys, how long could it freaking take to set up a forum?</b>
