<div class="IPBDescription">please :(</div>hi, i'm a long time player and supporter of NS. i never used to use the forums but about 6 months ago i decided to try and get more involved in the community. unfortunately as we all know the forums got hacked etc.
checking nearly every day in hope for an announcement of the return of the NS forums, only yesterday were my dreams fulfilled! or atleast i thought they were.... there is was, eagre as pie to get stuck into some serious exploring & typing only to find out that my player nick, "poo", had been taken!
WHAT TRECHERY FROM THE GAME I HAVE KNOWN AND LOVED FOR SO LONG. IF REFUSED TO EVEN RECOGNISE ME FOR WHO I AM!

i resigned myself to the fact that i was going to have to concede a part of my identity, so i went for it, i tried "poo!", only to have the blasted website tell me that "!" is an invalid character. i was left with only one option... 1337 speak. so here i am.... "p00".
how embarrassing <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

i am on my knees, begging, please let me have "poo". return poo to it's rightfull place.
i did a search on this heretic of a user, the charlatan "poo". he hasn't posted since early feb in 2003. now obviously it wouldn't be fair to ask for this guys nick if he was still logging in and reading the forums. but i'm hoping that if he hasn't even logged in during the past 3 years! then maybe you lovely chaps could make my day and let me replace these 00's with some rather more aesthetically pleasing oo's

here's to hoping <3

I'm afraid they won't change any usernames. The best thing you could do it just to re-register again.

well i wouldn't mind re-registering, but there isn't much point if they're not going to delete the old user, otherwise i've just got the same problem :/

The forums has been connected to different things, including the website. Changing nicknames would cause only problems. My old username is "skyrider", and I am as well using a new nickname.

I do remember a news-post that flayra made on the mainpage a long time ago that stated when the site was back-up; that they would loosen some of the rules regarding names, and allow people to change them again.

I did asked on IRC, multiple OPS said "no nickname changing".

is there any particular reason for this?

It is basically beyond our control right now. If we change a forum name, a ton of stuff breaks. Maybe the feature will be added. Sorry :/

I know this won't make you feel any better p00, but "he hasn't posted since early feb in 2003." isn't a very good means of guaging a users activity. As far as you know he may check these forums daily and only use the PM system occasionally.

A more accurate guage would be the user's lastactivity.

    This isn't a statistic that's available to the public though.... ... .. . <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
