The Ship Free Weekend
<a href="http://steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=TheShipFreeWeekend" target="_blank">The Ship free weekend</a> just started. I'm downloading at the moment but am quite excited about the game. The original version on HL1 was pretty fun, so I've been waiting for a free trial of the Sourcified adaptation.
Anyone up for a game?

however, it's a blast with mates :S
The vicious Herr von Schlüpeurk is back to haunt your cruise , be very afraid <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
What could be more fun than stalking peoples and smashing their heads open with a plastic arm?
Actually going to try to get some online play in today. I'm sure I'm still the only ANeM on the internets, so it shouldn't be hard to find me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
They'd be better off if killing bystanders DECREASED your score (down to zero, so CS-nubs wouldn't end up competing for the biggest negative score, possibly with one 'leeway' kill as everyone makes mistakes on occasion). It'd get the CS idiots to pay attention to something they recognize anyway.
Perhaps have your ability to use weapons stripped for a certain amount of time, and set as a 'free kill' for the duration. No penalties for killing you, but they still rack up the deaths.
Remember, it's all about the K:D to that kind of player. Not about having fun, which was the original point of the game. :b
Currently 95% downloaded. I'm assuming it handles in-game VoIP? I've grown a little bit spoiled with BF2142 over the last couple weeks.
Arcade mode is relatively simplistic, but has been more fun than any of the online games I've jumped into. I'll give it the weekend, but so far it's looking like I'll be getting back a gig and a half of hard drive space come Monday.
Just forget it. Programmers are taught that they should always assume that the user is as stupid as possible. If you ask the user to input a number, he will write "What number?" and your program must be able to handle that without crashing. Games have to be similar. If you make it possible for players to ###### the game over, players WILL ###### the game over.
- And why the flamethrower from Enemy Territory was horrorably bittersweet.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
People firing down with that flamethrower every time they spawned = NOT FUN.
Frustrating to have to hike back to the kitchen every time I die, just to wait for a cooking pot to re-spawn, as two people keep moving all the weapons in the game to some unknown cache somewhere on the boat.
Definitely NOT worth $25. At ten bucks I'd consider it.
The needs system doesn't help with this either, it's been dumbed down alot, and I've only once ever got my needs to such a dangerous level that I died because of it. You can simply carry snacks, pills and bags wherever you go, which kinda defeats the entire system.
