Crashing/Looping problems

Win XP Pro 64
Nvidia 7950 GX2
2 GB RAM
250 GB HD (plenty of room left)
CROSSHAIR MOBO
onboard sound card
Problem: I log into an NS server, my computer seems to loop when I respawn. I usually loop/freeze upon the first respawn but sometimes I am ablet o play a bit then upon respawning after my first death it loops/freezes then times me out disconnecting me from the server.
I have a pretty good computer and run many games at full detail no problem. I'm dissapointed in that I spent another $10 on HL solely to play NS and not have it working at all...
Any help?
I've ran a search on crashing and looping with no new leads on how to fix this.
