<div class="IPBDescription">Putting more into the hive system.</div>Here is the idea in a nutshell: Alien res-drives.
Now in more detail:
Right now the hive stands as a very important but, later in the game, increasingly vulnerable structure. Also it becomes a bit of a passive player in NS (since 1.04, anyway) so that people only really want another one for respawn and upgrade progression.
How about hive upgrades? The alien side could have an upgrade res-drive where aliens would goto the hive and dump their res into it, and when it got to a certain level it would evolve into a higher hive-lifeform, making new hive-abilities. What abilities? I don't know... perhaps spawning 2 aliens at once, or having a rudamentary defense mechanism (like an OC built in) or even an alien-like siege cannon that would slowly damage marine structures within a given radius.
The point of the matter is to make the alien base a bit more dynamic. Not dynamic as in moving, but dynamic as in more essential to the game.
For a real change, only allow the upgrade chamber of that given hive to advance to Lvl1,2, or 3 as the hive itself is upgraded to lvl1, 2, or3. This, in conjuntion with a different chamber strengh system, would eliminate the old problem of nobody ever using upgrade lvl1 or 2.
I suppose this could also apply to the marine side, on the comm chair, but I'm not sure what exactly that would do. More detailed comm map? Auto-medpacks?
