A marine is walking down a long corridoor, searching for any aliens.

Suddenly, a gorg leaps out, and strings the marine with sticky material.

The marine screams out... But it is too late.. He has been cocooned.

But what would a cocoon do?

Turn a Marine into a Skulk, perhaps. It'd stop the Bugs screaming "TEAMS" every three seconds when there's one more marine than them.

I swear t'$DEITY that half the players out there have "TEAMS FFS" on a bind....

I believe cocoon was an old idea that was thrown around for awhile but they decided it was a bad idea. I presume thats what it refers too although no idea why its in the titles.txt as I never thought it was actually in the game, just mentioned once or twice.

I think with the old idea a marine had to touch you to get out of it.
