Just wondering if there are any good websites for 2d skyboxes? I had a look on Google but couldn't find any sites full of skyboxes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> I'm just interested in incorporating some into my NS2 map test.
Going off on a tangent here, but I also had the idea of having actual planet textures in the 3d skybox, and tying them to a func_rotating, so it looks as if the spacestation you are in is rotating and spinning in space! Awesome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I'll let you know if i find anything.
If you get "actual" planets in your skybox which rotate, do take into account that the r_speeds will probably go sky-high. Think about it, a sphere, fairly complex. Also, i don't even know if it's possible, but it sounds good, if it works out, post it here so we can check it out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I'll just use a rectangular brush textured with a planet on one side. Then tie it to a func_rotating, no lag at all!
It's all in the 3d skybox so it's made at a 16th of the real size, very fun to do!
Cheers.

Not possible in NS. You can do it in SOHL though because that mod is able to make an area dedicated to a 3d skybox like in HL2.
