Motion Tracking

I was thinking that you could like have an upgrade or so like motion tracking. But it is like how Dystopia does it; there is a little box that goes around the model thats on your screen in visibility. It could go along with a nightvision of some sort. In NS, the marines have visors but they dont have much ability except HUD and motion tracking.

    I find the boxes to be VERY ugly. The circles work much better given the crosshair setup.

    I Agree with Hyperion, but I would like to see something different when it comes to motion tracking from NS to NS2.

    Assuming the skulk vs. marine early game still exists, and that in the source enviornment alien early game is going to be even more difficult (i.e. enviornmental manipulation will be more difficult) I would recommend that motion tracking just be for the commander only.

    lol no way. That would put aliens at a huge advantage with Para and scent of fear.

    I hate motion tracking. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> Aliens (especially skulks) rely more on stealth and ambushing than marines do, and the motion tracking for them is a bit more warrented so they can pose themselves in advance. Marines? They just roar on through without any 'stealth' so much as gunning everything in sight - motion tracking (once up) makes it a nightmare to try any form of ambushing anymore.

    Perhaps, instead of a blinking indicator, there could be a blue fog that shows up on the general area of the screen the alien is at, and it's strength and accuracy would be based on how loud and far away the alien is.

    I was hoping it would be a commander only feature. It would certainly put more hands in the power of the man dishing out the order's and thus increase the teamwork needed to accomplish things, as well as discouraging rambos. Aaaaand, on top of it all, hearing, "Theres three skulks around the corner - I think, last time they moved, there could be more" is a lot better for atmosphere than three circles. -.-;

    Marines shouldnt get motion like they current do in NS1.
    Maybe when entering a room a little NPC voice comes over the comms that motion has been detected in this room of the non human variety.
    e.g. Unidentified lifeform(s) detected !
    Your notified there is an alien or aliens in the room but you dont get an exact location. This would encourage better atmosphere, more fear of the alien ambushes, less lone gunmen and better teamwork from marines.
    And for the commander the room would turn red on the minimap if infested.

    interesting thought, maybe instead of a voice over (which could get very annoying very fast if it happens on every room and corridor) you could have something similar to the sneak meters in some games you see, except its a foreign lifeform detector. It goes up and down depending on how close you are to any foreign lifeform, but it would also include alein structures and hives, thus making it useless as you entered a hive-room since it would be maxed out constantly. Might balance out quite nicely.

    i like the idea. Going into a hive or next to a res node renders the motion detect uselss.
