<div class="IPBDescription">Get the goods and get out!</div>For a new game play type what about retrieval?

A science ship or a cargo vessel carrying important information or items.........the ship is useless but the information is what's important. Whether it is hacking a computer console or grabbing the goods from the cargo bay, the marines dock and try to get to the area where the item is held.

Retrieval missions could possibly have:

A time limit( how long? who knows?) or possibly they need to hold off the khaara until said item is retrieved.

A resource limit for marines, a slow trickle while the khaara's increases over time..........they would have the upper hand since it's already an over run ship.

Possibly a tech limit for marines....or already have some tech researched? A full bastion of marines armed to the hilt or marines getting into something they didn't expect?

Minimal resource points to cap meaning getting in and out is of the utmost importance.

Possible ejection pods,if said item is retrieved, to be used..........only if marine spawn has been over run, a little hunt and run action for those marines left and looking to escape.

Multiple item points but only one(random item start) is the capturable item point.

Two or three hive start for khaara?

Jus tan idea, sooooooo much to toy with.

Ideas?

sounds good to me, its a bit like combat i guess, but combat could do with a bit of spicing up, so different modes and objectives, perhaps multiple objectives in the same map would be great <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Yeah, imagine..........you just grabbed (said item) , start heading back and your spawn is over ran.............change direction and hope your ###### isn't eaten while running to an escape pod.

Maybe this is where the drop ship comes in. So for 10-20 seconds the marines are in a drop ship that moving into a bigger abandoned ship. While the rines are waiting to deploy they grab thier ammo from the armory . There are pre built IP's in the drop ship an armory and a "limited" com chair that can't build anything apart from res, dropping guns, and getting upgrades. Maybe an arms lab as well for some minor upgrades which the com can choose over. The rines get to item. Then they have to get back to the ship, hit a button to close the door and the ship moves off. All in a certain time limit or before thier base gets owned.
