    Howdy Golex,

    I refused to go to 1.03 because of the team restrictions. I am running a Linux server and now that 1.04 is out I HAVE to upgrade. The improvements in 1.04 are just too tempting.

    While running 1.02 I was using your older script. Now that I am in 1.04 I have compiled the latest version of the sma (posted in this thread version 2.1.0) and installed it on my server.

    I do not want to run with mp_tournament set to 1.

    Whenever I attempt to move someone between teams instead of them showing up on the new team they end up in the ready room. They are then still restricted to the team they were previously playing on.

    Suggestions?

    I am somewhat dissapointed how this whole team change issue was handled on both sides of the fence. The server and player community begged for something to be done. Flayra made sound changes that were too restrictive. A few folks in the server community went way over board flaming the changes off the bat. It seems to me, as a result of the flaming, Flayra dug his heels in and still refuses to make any changes (such as server side vars) so that the server admins have more control over how teams are balanced.

    So you understand why its broken now bigtoy? 1.03 and onwards restricted team changing to avoid abuse (people changing teams to see strats, or sabotage etc.). I was hoping for inclusion of a cvar to turn it off, but no luck yet.

    My misunderstanding. I thought you had figured out a way to "bypass" the issue. Something like issuing a re-connect.

    I totally understand the reasons WHY the restrictions are in place.

    I also agree that I am waiting for a CVAR so that if I want to I can make the server a bit more casual.

    Oh well...

    Oh yes, I coded a nasty hack workaround that forces the player to reconnect. Its in the latest version of my plugin on page 4: plugin_nsteams_bh.sma

    The .sma has info on how to turn this workaround on and off.

    Just go in and change the value in the sma yourself, and compile it...

    Finally finished reading this topic....it's quite long @ 5 pages...

    Well, I was wondering about an earlier post about warning the player to be switched.
    I see that it determines the player after 30 sec, but I'm wondering if you should after those
    30 sec: pick the player, warn they will be switched, wait 5 seconds (or sometime...), then switch them.

    The above just goes with the courtesy concept. You might have already done this, but if you haven't...

    I don't have a server running, but I'm just interested in seeing the change so when I am playing
    on a server that *does* have this plugin, I will be politely warned before being *violated* <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    Anyways, just thought I'd add my 2 cents as well...

    I figured that initial warning that starts off the 30 second countdown was enough, but that wouldn't be too hard to code... but might make it a bit clunky having to use so many timers.
