Unable to retrieve server list in NS, or connect to any server

Played NS when it first start long ago on HL1 (before days of Steam), and now decided to replay it again.


Anyway, I installed HL1 on steam, and download the client for NS 3.1 and installed it.

However, I can't seem to connect to any servers at all. When I click "Find Servers" in NS itself, it'll end up with a msg saying "Cannot connect to master game list" or smth like that.

When I access "Servers" under steam and filter for NAtural Selection, I get a healthy list with good pings etc.

But when I click on it to join, it starts up NS, and tries to connect to the server. It then retrys several times and then fails. Same case for all servers I tried.

When I try to start another game. e.g. Counterstrike:Source it works fine, I join the server fast and is able to play.

Anyone has the same problem or solution to this? Open port 20715, or hl.exe in the firewall - might help
