Well i want to know for what reason the marines was nerfed in the patch, and what are the planning in the next patch ... i gonna explain my feelings <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I have played now a couple of games, and i continue to think what i was thinking when i saw the patch ... the marines gonna die, and as i see, they are dying ...
I know, is all a matter of teamwork, is all about the commander, yea yea ... ok, what i see actually, is a lot of players blaming the comm ... and i was in 3 games where nobody wants to be a comm ... (and a lot of games where there is no comm for more than 5 minutes until someone take the job)
In the alien team, all is about an individual player who has the control to build or to kill, with the cooperation of he's teammates, in every game there is an alien "father" telling her "sons" how to build efectively, giving hints about how to play effectively and so, as they are aliens talking in a closed relation this is a good thig ... i havent seen this in the marines, there is only a comm, and all the players try to "help" the comm, and finally (as they get no attention of the overhelmed comm) to blame her <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
When first the game comes out, and the aliens was owned, the first thing i think was "damn, i doing my job very bad" (i was so convinced that the game was balanced and that was my fault) i come to the forums to read alien estretagies, and then i saw that "bug" of the resources ...
... but the aliens were beginning to learn and to win, when the patch comes out what i saw was 3 problems
The marines as individual were nerfed, so a good comm was more required
The turrets were nerfed, so now, no marine can reach an attacked base in time (usually the factory turret is destroyed and the base bashed) i have destroyed a couple of bases this way as a skulk
And finally, the aliens were learning how to be a deadly alien ...
I know i know, any playtester can kick the butt of any alien in any public server ... but the actual comms arent playtesters, and are being harassed to not being able to do a good job ...
I have tried to be a comm ...2 times ... no more than a minute each time, not for me, any friend off mine dont want to be a comm ... and as more games i see, less people want to be one ...
I think is a subjective opinion, maybe in other servers of the world the marine are kicking aliens **obscenity**, but at least in the servers i play , this is how it go ...
The last game i played as a alien, i killed as a fade in less than a 5 minutes, a 10 marines or so (finally they killed me), crushed a couple of bases, and managed to reach the console command 2 times (as skulk, but i was killed, when i was attacking the console), this in a less than 20 min .... as a marine i try to help the team as much as i can, to follow every order the comm give me, and to calm my team when they beggin to blame the comm, (and only be able to build two bases and lose them in 1 hour of play, dying so much in the process) it seems that the marines are more chaotic than the aliens ... in fact the aliens are working more as a team than the marines ...
The devs and PT were balancing the game for a loooong time (i think they made a good job), it seems to me, that the devs have listened the people to early, when they havent learnt how to play, to make these balance issues ...
Actually i think the comms need more help to do well his job, and the marines arent cooperating to make his job much eaiser ... 4 different groups of marines telling the comm were a node is, in the same second, and repeating it every 5 seconds, doesnt seem to me a good cooperation ...
Well, Good luck to marines, they need it (not me, so i play more as an alien, i love to be a "Culete Gordo" as i call the gorge in spanish
