take me, i am 21, i am a qualified electrical engineer, currently jobless, i despise engineering, i dont find it fun.
however, i have a flat to maintain, and with savings rapidly depleeting, what are my options? i have to find any work, specifically engineering since it pays more, but, i dont enjoy it, but i cant afford anything else.
i would LOVE to go and retrain, and take a gamble on another career path, but to do that i would have to find some crappy 40/50 hour a week job on minimum wage, and then come home, and study, and still i'd need to pull some overtime to afford my place, and moving out isnt an option since im signed in a 14 month tenancy agreement.
so realistically, i have a choice of minimum wage crap. or a job i despise. i dont want to do either, but i have no choice.. i dont think work is that important in my life, its something we/ i do to make money, and HAVE my life. simple as that.. next year, i want to 'customise' my life.. i want to step things up a notch.. i have a list of new pc bits i want, new paint and furniture for my flat, to make it.. mine. i want to visit the arctic next year, i owe a friend a motorbike rally around holland. i have goals.. in my mind, the job side.. is just to achieve them.. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That sounds very tough, I hope everything works out for you in the end. Good luck man.
Good thing you finally got a job Patchy, other then that waiter one.
Personally a make-up artist would be an interesting position, and it does make you look umm... professional? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
Hey, I look plenty professional as I am now, with my black shirt, black trousers, and black shoes, kthnx <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad-fix.gif" />
But yeah, it's a world of difference better than being a waiter tbh. Aside from double the pay, and about a billionth of the hassle, the only drinks I have to serve are 3 coffees at the most, one of which is mine.
I wanted to take a picture of the building today, but the security guy confiscated my camera <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> Suppose he though I was going to take piccies of the drawings I'm collating... Ah well, Bacton's electronic schematics are safe... Not like there's anything you could actually do with them. Internal wirings for junction boxes. Hell, I even found a CAD drawing of a radio in there. I found the wiring, and the one of the guys I'm working with found the exterior casing =\
Uh huh, and the competitors really want to know about new radio case designs -.-
Oh wait a second, would that be the competitors whos' logo are splashed all over the schematics? Everyone gives out their drawings to everyone else it seems...
