New Case "time"

As the topic says, I need a new case, after losing my rag completely with the side panel on my Wavemaster.

Now, I'm considering just buying a new one of the TAC-T01 WaveMaster, but I wanted to see about what you lot though about the cases that are out there...

Seeing as it's for me, the following guideline will apply...

1. It MUST be made from aluminium, not SECC main.
2. NO PLASTIC!!!
3. No complimentary PSU. They just add to the price, and because an extra cost paperweight...
4. No side windows. Honestly people, the days when you used to show off your parts are LONG DEAD. It's all about the outside now. Window panels are for watercoolers, and people with more money than sense.
5. No flashing lights on the front, except for power and HDD activity. My PC is left on overnight, and I have enough trouble getting to sleep, without having a disco on my desk...
6. If there's a door on the front, no full face doors. I have stuff in front of the lower part of the case, and to have a full face door would be just too awkward to use, given my desk estup.

That's basically it. Get to it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I'd recommend Antec P180 which I've been using for a while, except that it's got a full face door. It's easy peasy to remove, though, and other than that it fits your description perfectly. Check out some reviews of it, it's got some nice innovative ideas for cooling and fitting the parts.

[Edit] Also, the case's about as silent as you can get with air cooling (fans). [/Edit]

Yes Slizer, you. Now get to it, and stop with the blatent +1's <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I'll look up the Antec when my connection stop taking 20 minutes to load a webpage >_<
Not to bothered about the noise at the minute, seeing as the loudest thing in my PC are my graphics cards...

I myself have an Antec P180 in the post.

    The Look:

I'm all with you on the side-panels. I don't want my PC to look like an adults toy, I want it to look like it has some class!

    [edit]
Yes, the PSU does go at the bottom.

Hmm, PSU at the bottom. Would that be that it mounts upside down? If not, then bottom drawing fans will just be useless, and the PSU will be full of dust rather quickly...

Merkaba what PSU do you recommend?

I also recommend the P180, recommended it to 2 other people and they both love it. The only drawback is the weight and size of the case.

Errr I'm in no position to recommend anything, certainly not a PSU. I've had to ask other people to recommend things to me ^_^

Personally I went with a Corsair 520W PSU, as recommended by CForrester in my <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?s=1313436794597478144&showtopic=98717&st=20" target="_blank">PC thread in this forum</a>. I did some searches on it in Google with the +review tag on, found that it got pretty positive reviews, and bought it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Ok, took some measurements today, and the cables for my PSU won't reach the full distance in the Antec <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
    Not even if I got a new PSU, would they reach, they'd need an extender or 2... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Hmm you have a PSU for this new PC. Oh wait it's just a new case. Nevermind...

However if you are going for a AMD dualcore with new 3dcard in the future, you might want to get more wattage then 300-350 for a more stable system. Ignore me if you go intel conroe or newer yet to be created. The current AMD and 3dcards though, they do like their juice and plenty of it when running stable at full load...

Not for a new PC, I kind of lost it trying to fix where my case hit my knuckle a few times, in my angrier times...

Had a few issues that I've narrowed down to insufficient power, So I'm going for another higher rated aPFC supply. But that's all sorted, I just need a new case now, seeing as there's a few holes in the side panel now...
