I personally use <a href="http://www.digg.com/" target="_blank">Digg</a>, <a href="http://www.kotaku.com/" target="_blank">Kotaku</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/" target="_blank">Joystiq</a> quite often. Digg for generalized news, while the others obviously for gaming.
I used to use /., but I've found its incredibly slow compared to Digg, and misses tons of issues that I am indeed interested in.
What about you guys?

I also pop over to Hack a Day once in a while.
It's a collection of most sites mentioned here. You can also customise the sources and platforms you see. I'm there for the release dates, reviews and top news stories.
www.hardware.no
www.gamespot.com
www.gametrailers.com
That's basically it. Three international sites and one Norwegian site. They keep me fairly updated on things.
Slashdot is awesome, but sometimes it gets too much. Gamespot is good, but sometimes slow.
Gametrailers is also good, but I tend to watch out for new HD videos instead of news. Hardwares news are always cool, and it's in my motherlanguage so I like it a lot.
