a new top tier alien?

<div class="IPBDescription">and other extened alien techs</div>Whilst browsing these forums i've had a few miscellaneous ideas and i thought i should probably make a thread for them. Anyway, my main proposition is that of a new top level alien, ie above the onos in 'power/cost'. It would have to go with other ideas of extending the alien tech options and levels, ie 5 hives being possible, and 5 base chambers (maybe make upgrade the oc and then add some other one). You could also have hybrid chambers (ie needs a dc and mc to be built) or super chambers (ie needs 3 sc's to be built) with some more interesting abilities associated with them.
Anyhow, this super alien would be like a wizard of sorts for the aliens. A vertical snake/half dragon thing, like a hydraulisk, and wherever it walks or moves it leaves a trail of that dynamic infestation behind it - along with any advatnages or assoicated attributes. It would have to move rather slowly. The name is not really important, how about narcis?
This alien could have some unique properties about it that relate to the chambers built (or if the team has built eg a super chamber) so it acts like a moving chamber, aliens around it could get healed/more adren/cloak/etc. He could also perhaps build things, like forward chambers and the alike. He needs to be tough, killable, and largely increasing in power with the number of hives. Perhaps if hit location damage is used, he's only vulnerable from behind - so he has to move cautiously and make sure he has alien support to avoid getting surrounded.
As for its abilities or attacks i'm not too sure yet.
One of them would be to dominate/infest marine structures, this guy's slow and awesome so he should be able to wipe out marine buildings quickly if he gets to them.
He'd need a physical attack, either similar to gorge spit or lerk spikes or a melee breath attack?
At a higher slot ability (say 3 or 4 hives) he would need to have a good defensive ability, maybe the ability to puff out a cloud of super umbra or similar around him.
Maybe a sort of healing cloud could be useful too for supporting other aliens.
Perhaps a retreat or recall ability where it sinks into the ground and comes back at the hive.
His 5th hive ability should be a rather insane denfensive move that allows it to waltz into m/s and just kill all the buildings and finish the game - 5 hives and this guy should by a game ender.

ok firstly , game ending aliens suck popstickles
secondly, your idea isnt very tougth out, you only touch the surface
thirdly, you shout out too many game chaning ideas at one thread to completely analize them
And i wont even mention how the ability to recall yourself is already in the game, as a dc cupgrade.
Also how the new skill super umbra isnt that new at all, just making regular umbra stronger.
Lastly i belive ns team know of the ideas of queen aliens, walking chambers, new chambers ect.
But i like the idea of tech tree for aliens , like build 10 scs to get some other thingi.
Lifeform: Hive Queen
Cost: 100 res
Pre-requisites: 3 Hives, 3 of each Chamber, no more than 1 Hive Queen on a team at one time
HP: 800
AP: 500
Cara AP: 750
Hull size: same as Onos
Movement: flies similar to Lerk, only much slower--base movement speed equal to Gorge
Slot1: Bite--Slow but powerful melee attack. 120 damage at .8 second fire rate. (With Focus will 1-hit Armor2 marines, and will 1-hit Armor3 marines after a parasite (see below) ). Energycost: 8%
Slot2: Advanced Parasite--ranged hitscan weapon that deals 50 damage and gives the normal benefits of Parasite. Additionally, if used against a marine not wearing Heavy Armor, the parasite will poison the marine and do an additional 50 dmg/sec for the next 5 secs. (Multiple hits will reset timer, but will not stack damage). Energy cost: 25%
Slot3: Webspray--ranged weapon that drastically slows movement of all marines in an area of effect. Attack rate slowed by 50%. (Think negative catpack). Duration: 4 secs Energy cost: 30%
Slot4: Infest--Melee attack that only affects buildings. When attacking a building with Infest, a progress bar will appear similar to Welding. After 3 seconds, that building has been infested: it is no longer under the control of the marine commander. The building ceases to function in any way, and counts as an alien structure until destroyed.
(If the Infestation counter is interrupted, the building will de-infest at the same rate, so skipping attack for a fraction of a second wont hurt, but if you ignore it for 3 seconds its back to normal. After Infestation is complete, there is no way to remove the Infestation except by destroying the structure and rebuilding it.)
Energy cost: 18% per second

Secondly, i know, thats the point - you cant make complete and very specific ideas when one doesn't know alot about the final product. It's only various tidbits of ideas developers will use in their own coming up with what to have in the game.
Thirdly, perhaps, i'm not sure what upgrades and abilities will be in ns2 (i wouldnt be surprised if redemption got axed, even then its somewhat different being immediatly activated as opposed to chance). I'm not sure what abilities it would use, cxwf came up with some more however...
Firstly, the aliens need something to help them win, the fighting power of the current marines vs top tier aliens is way too strong. 10 minute marine hold outs everytime they lose are just boring.

--Toasts Light Armor marines (as a game ender should)
--Very effective vs JP marines (opposite of Onos weakness)
--Not very effective vs HA marines (opposite of Onos strength)
--Respectable support lifeform with Webspray
--If left alone for even a few seconds, can wreak havoc on Marine structures. (game ending power)
Note that the HP of the building does not affect the infest timer. You can infest RTs just as fast as you can infest Turrets, forcing the marines to shoot down their own RT before they can rebuild it and get more res. You can even Infest an active Command Chair (10k hp!), although perhaps the timer on that should be slighly longer. 5 seconds? Providing the aliens a way to viably destroy the Marine Command Chair (assuming 3 Hives and a pile of res) will assure a quick end to the game.
I think one of the abilities should be a parasite-type where you can infect a marine with an egg. The marine will take damage over time and eventually he will explode lol
Strengths: High Hp and Armour, high attack
Weaknesses: Slow, Dependant on other lifeforms.
Newer players would care more about supporting and not dieing as a 50/75res alien because they gain some kind of advantage in comparison with the vanilla lifeform, may it be a little more speed, armor or whatever, not much though due to balance reasons.
One could even slightly change the model's texture, if the lifeform advances.

The idea seems quite appealing, but I vote no, because I'd rather see other aliens' (hive3-)attacks improved to speed up the endgame and we don't need another alienclass which blocks the s**t out of its teammates.
Moreover limiting the amount of hive queens to one will result in even more res ######s on publics who cry at their teammates to build the 3rd hive and/or 3 of all chambers already.
If aliens get a new top tier alien, marines would probably get a top tier research, nukes, as well, to keep it balanced of course.
not that I expect it would get in, but that creature that I suggested would be almost incapable of killing marines.
