Scratch & Burn
<div class="IPBDescription">Best MTV Show Nobody's Heard Of</div>"Scratch & Burn" was a sketch comedy show that had only <b>5 episodes</b> of it aired in 2002 on MTV before it was taken off the air for unknown reasons, <b>and it was so freaking good.</b> What made this show so awesome was that most, but not all of the sketches were done in the form of rap. And I mean like, the <u>good</u>, <u>catchy</u> kind of rap. The lyrics were ingenius, and the comedy itself was VERY funny.
I managed to catch only one episode of it at the age of 13, and it was on at some REALLY obscure time, like 2AM or something. But I've never forgotten it.
So, fast foward to December 2006, and I'm just sitting here very bored, so I decided to look into what happened to the show. There's not even a Wikipedia article about it! But much to my happy surprise...There are videos of some of the sketches on YouTube! YES! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
You gotta watch these. They're so awesome.
<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=IZYxqryzaw8" target="_blank">Godfather in One Minute</a>
The Godfather Pt. 1, in rap form. And very summarized.
<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=vxkeKu7FxJQ" target="_blank">The Adventures of Whassup Holmes</a>
A lot of my friends find this be their favorite. A story of the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. Except it's Whassup Holmes.
<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=_b3u-JFPX88" target="_blank">Myslexic Dan</a>
One of the few sketches of theirs that isn't rap. Still love it.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvomqlH1fVo" target="_blank">MC Schizophrenic</a>
Rap song about a MC that has multiple personalities. Very creative lyrics, and funny.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVO7dpedBE0" target="_blank">When Geeks Will Rule the World</a>
A half-rap half-song video about how being a nerd will get better after high school.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAuZ05qYfRM" target="_blank">Banged My Ex-Girlfriend</a>
A rap song where guys share stories about discovering that their girlfriends are cheating on them.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zdXQN3HAfs" target="_blank">######, Please!</a>
Somewhat a parody of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, this is a non-rap sketch about a wigger that lives with a black family.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOx8YgMpC5E" target="_blank">Aspenmound</a>
Hahaha, I like this one. Imagine if instead of cocaine, drug dealers trafficked coffee.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17HUo_V7ORM" target="_blank">Fraction Jackson</a>
This one is my absolute favorite. I mean, it's about fractions! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Good days.
wow they shouldn't have cancelled it.
And we can't have that.
Good rap though.
Nice find.
Thing is, you DON'T cancel the good shows and the audience gets used to quality. Suddenly the BAD shows ain't gettin' no viewers anymore meaning you have to populate the entire program with GOOD shows which means you actually gotta do some work instead of spending all day wondering what to spend all the advertising money on.
