it's a pretty fun game, considering it's free. I got sick of it after a few days though. Don't know what to tell you about your connection problems, but the game did always have connection problems for me too. I would occasionally lag out of the game for no reason, it could be quite annoying at times.

I never got far enough in to try the real 'unique' draw of the game: trading. once you reach a certain level, you can choose to be a trader, or a caravan guard, or a caravan thief. traders haul goods from one city to another, thieves try to steal your goods and guards kill thieves. don't know how it all plays out when you actually try it, but it sounds cool in theory.

Sounds like an ISP routing issue. Unless you wanna phone up for the sake of being able to connect to 1 IP cluster, there's nothing you can do...

I've played Silk Road online for a good while, and while it is fun for a while, you hit the usual "do this quest and now this quest" for exp/money. The only highlight of the game is trading, but even then, it's busted because 90% of Thieves are exceptionally high level and will easily beat you down. Thus you can only do the lowest level trades. Even then, it's annoying, because your transport is highly dumb and can get stuck in trees and other "catches" in the ground. Thiefbots also spawn to attack your caravan, but those are matched to your difficulty/level. Trading is best done when you're higher leveled and have more people to help each other out.

Thieving is the same almost, except you can get killed by both the traders and the hunters. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

It is amusing, but...yeah. Grind etc.
