<div class="IPBDescription">aliens switching teams to destroy comm.</div> Now this has happened two days in a row on the dssg server, for which there hasn't been an admin on. It seems as though, any person on the alien team, who realizes they can, will switch to marines and destroy the commander. Usually happens when the aliens are losing, or if there is a perceived unbalanced for the teams.
I read another post where people have said, oh admin.. kickban. Unfortuantly these weren't options. I could fix the problem by just moving to another server, but the skill seems to be there for both sides on dssg consistently. Should i have to find another server because there aren't admins yet?
My question to the devs then is this, if aliens cannot destroy their own structures. I've only tested it with the skulks bite, so correct me if i'm wrong. What's the balance purpose for allowing marines to destroy their own structures? The only reason i could come up with off the top of my head follows. If there are aliens in your base, it keeps people from just chucking nades everwhere to deal with them.
It's ridiculious though, to have ONE person ruin it for an entire team. Since a good game of N-s lasts a decent amount of time. Everything builds up, one person decides (and this just happened 15 minutes ago) that since the teams weren't balanced (9v8) he would switch and procede to destroy the marines. has this happened to anybody else? It's only happened 3 times to me, so i'm not sure how rampant it is. but more importantly, are the devs aware of this problem with adminless/kickbanless servers?
Letting marines destroy their own base makes sense on an FF server. Perhaps adding kickban into the game, automatic for a marine who destroys their own comm chair? That's hard to do by accident.
Overall though, this mod is brilliant. Of all the mods that have tried the space marine/alien root...paranoid.. whatever that one was called by the team who made jailbreak.. this has been the best. Except for this one pain in the **obscenity** thorn.

And if it was 9/8 in the marines' favor, that's not unbalanced. Eight marines + commander, and the commander can't run out and kill aliens unless he's in deep sh!t and there aren't any marines in the base.
Yea, but he's not running around killing things, and his marines have to build everything he drops..
Ok, lame argument, but I still feel that way.
The dumb thing was, he Could destroy our buildings, but we couldnt kill him!! That made it even worse!
Personally, I like ff, makes you more careful and it also affects aliens (can't have fades bombing everything and not kill some buddies) so I don't believe its unfair. Promotes careful playing, and teaches you how to aim.
