<div class="IPBDescription">iPod Sudoku</div>Well in the iTunes store, there's a new game for the iPod called Sudoku, made by EA games. Its description: "Solve the Grid in a Zen setting"
I'm not interested in iPod games actually, 5 bucks a piece is a rip-off (5 Euros for those in Euroland) but this caught my eye enough for me to read the description.
<a href="http://podophile.com/2006/12/26/ipod-game-review-sudoku/" target="_blank">Here</a>'s a little review (even though, in my opinion, clickwheel +grid+9 numbers=suck)
It has a relaxing background, Japanese-inspired relaxing sounds, and (if I read this right) hints you at easy-to-solve boxes.
I'm not too familiar with the multitude of Sudoku spinoffs, but something tells me that EA got slightly inspired off of UWE for their Sudoku game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Comments
looks alot like the many screenshots of ZoS i've seen.
how amusing.
Tsk Tsk EA.
Not got anything better to do ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
its an american invention ,not asian.
Wouldnt call a blatant rip off,but it has simularities,at least the Font does, abit of same style too.but meh.
Fine, it was invented by an American, but the name is Asian and the craze started in Asia. Flayra is not the first person to link the two. It's a logical artistic basis for a sudoku game.

Truely, it was an european who first invented back into the late middle age.
Anyway, it's EA. It's highly likely to be ripped straight off Zen of Soduku.

Technically, the real craze for Sudoku was started by The Times newspaper in the UK. Before that, it was an idea stolen from the americans by bored japanese people who could find nothing better to do with their time than build skyscrapers, and install them with millions of 7x3 "apartment cells"

The point is it gained real, ultimate, supreme popularity in Japan first.
Perhaps EA knows the new little UWE won't be able to fight back? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
