My first game was way too short because of those damn ping issues, but I remember JP+HA flying around.
after taking a 3 year break i decided to re-install half life and get ns back on. I must say the game still hasnt lost its game play atmosphere, one thing i did notice was the fact playing aliens were 10x harder on on 1900x 1200 res because the half life engine scalling doesnt seem to render right. its a pity you cant play skulk in 3rd person as first person is too hard at my res <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
When I first started playing ns, I always joined marines since it was more noob friendly. When I happened to end up on aliens, I went gorge since I wanted ranged fire <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> The rest of the team was never too happy since we had a team gorge already.

Once upon a time, a Turret Factory was just that, a factory. Even if the TF was down, each turret had to be individually taken out.
I honestly don't remeber when I started playing - sometime in the 1.0 or earlier range. Back when you'd get stuck on the ceilings and couldn't fit in the vents half the time and so on.
But I loved it because the devs made a real attempt at balancing it - and you had some really nice things like cloaking and such as well. Always love playing the bugs most of all, though. Lerk is my fave of all of the types, though. (evil grin)
the first time i joined an ns server was on bast, we got raped on ms, so we reloced with jps on the (ex) dbl on the shiny bright spot up there. lol i miss the 2hour rounds
I played on 56k, and compared to the rest of the room my ping wasn't really any worse for once on release day <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> First game won and played as a gorgey. Since then, I think I've won about 5 or 6 games since, I'm a bad omen on the teams result.
Aye, I was also saddled with dial-up on the day of NS's release <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
I was surprised by how well it ran on my crappy comp/connection, actually. Although it seemed to take me ages to find a server where I felt like I fitted in (yay Voogru!)

I remember the first game I played. I also remember commanding from time to time. I was meticulous (read , crap) and liked to stretch games out to at least three hours. Ah.. three hours of lockdown on Caged. That's the way it should be.

First map I played was actually Hera I think.

That was changed pretty fast, though.
