The comm chair

Is it just me or does the current comm-chair remind you of some sort of awkward motorcycle without the wheels?
Mappers often want to make a nice looking place for the marine start, fine architecture and a special area that really gives the player an impression of an important structure should be kept there. And what is there? A little toy-vehicle that can't drive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
My suggestion is to change the comm-char to something else that looks more like a real place where a commander could administer the rest of the team.
I don't mind that new comm-chairs built later in the game has that look but I would suggest to have better looking comm chairs, maybe some the mapper can choose amongst so the chair fits into the back story of the map. (If the marines just arrived you could have that little marine chair, if the marines has been there all the time they could be better established).

However, I do not think that there is that much wrong with the current cc, it looks pretty nice to me. But maybe it is just me? :o
It would look better if it was more broader and not as slim as it is now, a little bigger to symbolize that it's an important structure just like the Alien Hive is kinda big.
Also for the HL2 engine, it would look completely awesome if you visually entered it like you enter the buggy in Hl2. Inside the chair it would have some render-targets that your view goes closer to that displays what you are going to see in commander mode and then it takes over there. Kinda the same effect if you are about to go into a portal in Prey or how it looks like in Portals by Valve.
It should also still be easy to transport to the battlefield in a dropship for example. So it's size can't get to extravagant...

i'd like to see the main one very extravagant, but extra ones you drop don't need to be
half the fun with marines is relocating into small vents, behind crates and in dark corners etc, after the aliens have pwn'd marine start <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
