<div class="IPBDescription">There is only snow</div>Anybody play/have battlefield 2142? As much as I hate EA, I enjoy this quite a bit. The unlock style is ALOT nicer then BF2 IMO and they finally made snipers work correctly (bobbing site, but otherwise pinpoint accurate). For the last 3 days I've been going almost 100% knife kills, I equip the cloaker and ditch the heavy body armor for more sprint time. I might go as far as to say Im addicted to knife killing people. Seeing their dog-tags pop up is so much more satisfying then just shooting them in the face. From the last 3 days I've gotten roughly 300~ knife kills, with 150 unique tags.

My killing style aside, my buddy name is "Xyth" (Big surprise there), if you have it feel free to post yours.

In-Game advertisements plus having other "anonymous information" gathered? No thanks.\

    Edit: Fixed.

Haha, yeah right. There isn't any spyware and I think some people haven't even had the in-game advertisements show up yet. I love all this EA hate that seems to spawn from some magical realm where it's okay to be wrong as long as you don't like a corporation.

What, is it socially acceptable NOT to hate EA now? Last I checked you had to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fumie" target="_blank">prove your hatred</a> by trampling their logo underfoot.

Yeah, Im pretty sure that the whole "LOL SPYWARE IN A VIDJAGAME OH NOES" has been debunked by now. There are billboards on one of the maps which displays an add for BFHQ and the new Intel processor, but it just looks like any other piece of the environment.

My hate for EA comes from the fact that every game they have been involved with always has glaring problems with it (Though they still manage to be fun, which is why I<i> really </i>hate them.) For example: C&C generals had the scud cheat for MONTHS before EA got around to fixing it. Random connection issues and such are still a huge problem with that game even years later.

2142 has a few glaring issues (Mainly the fact with titan combat. ANYTHING inside a titan will be rendered as long as the titan is within your sight range. Meaning that walking underneath a titan with 15 people in it makes the game almost unplayable. Not to mention if the titans both get next to each other...), but most are easy to get around (Don't play titan mode..).

That would make more sense if EA actually made all of its games instead of just publishing them. 2142's made by DICE.

That's why I said "Any game EA has been involved with". And no matter who actually develops it, anytime EA publishes/ is involved with it, the game has bad issues.

I don't think EA actually goes into the games it publishes and adds issues. I think they just publish so many AAA titles that it ends up looking like they have a pattern of bugs, when in reality they just have a patern of huge highly anticipated games that everyone swarms over the day they're released.

Im saying that it's probably more like EA pressing developers to hit a release date and/or their restrictions on the quality a game must meet before release is to relaxed.

Seriously though, none of you buttheads play this? I want the el-knifey one of you in the kidney.

most people seem to dislike BF2142 but I liked it. got sick of it after a couple weeks though. I unlocked everything except the AA gun for the engy, and a buncha other stuff. I love the engy in this bf and bf2. can melt 2 faces with 1 clip at close or mid range, and can kick the crap out of vehicles too

How about we discuss the game? Which owns. It's way more strategic, with more focused classes and squad leader roles. I thought bf2 was gonna be a tough act to follow, but it actually improved (subtly) on many fronts.

There are still a lot of things the spyware never made sense about with the way they explained it(...what angle I'm looking at the ads from? That should be completely in-client, none of the so called additional software), but we've had this conversation a dozen times, and I don't think <a href="http://ea-spouse.livejournal.com/274.html?thread=752658" target="_blank">that I should have to remind you of what they did</a>. They may have fixed the issues by now or not, who are we to know, but their business practices are only getting shadier, not better.

As for 2142: Its awesome. Love it. Play it almost daily. I think some of the teamwork aspects somehow gotta get worked on again- I lost a lot of the team play that BF2 supplied just because you were forced to get couped up together in an APC to get most places, while in 2142 you can solo it pretty well. But the teamplay when its thtere, is totally awesome.

Scythetech is my soldier name. I play it a fair bit. When it's not crashing constantly it's pretty fun.

I ordered my new computer that I started that other thread about, so when it comes I'll install the game there and play it as it was meant to be played :>

My name is Hazmat in the game fyi...

I do love the squad concept, but it's so hard to find worthwhile people to squad with you even though a good squad leader can net you soo many extra points (via orders)...
