3 days later and only 7 3.2 beta 2 servers ?

Ok, its been 3 days now that NS 3.2 Beta 2 has been release and I still see only 7 servers with a total of about 40 players ? I'm a bit disapointed. I thought by now there would be more. I hope the situation will change over the weekend.
I downloaded it the day it was announced and tried it on that same day and the situation was still the same but with fewer players. That is understandable.
So tell me guys, why the low interest in it ?
Why haven't you started an NS 3.2 Beta server ?
Have you tried it ?
What do you think ?
If you haven't tried it, what was the reason ?

Nevertheless, I think beta2 is a nice improvement. I still think it's kinda annoying how the game is being balanced: overpower one side in one version, then overpower the other in the next.
Now that I play 3.1 again, i miss my +movement <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
People are getting sick of NS. No matter how much they balance it anymore, it just the same game again and again. It's continuing its downward trend. Get used to fewer and fewer players.
I would love to play 3.2 but I can't find a good classic server to play on. Most of them have FF on, have high ping (For west coast anyways) and have small max player limits, most are 18-22ish people.

Yeap, ditto.
But also I guess another large issue is that it's not listed as "Natural Selection" in the liblist.gam file
So it's not visible to those playing 3.1 unless they take special action to view it via Steam.
But in general, I agree with the rest.
Reason there aren't 3.2 servers is because there aren't the players to support it.
And the reason behind that is because of it being labeled "beta".
So until it loses the beta tag, you won't have the players to support 3.2 servers
So you won't have the servers.
If anyone wants to help with the beta testing, you could check out #nspickup on irc.gamesurge.net, where there is usually a group of people who wouldn't mind playing 6v6.

And thats why they play ns 3.1 instead of 3.2... makes sense
Of course, it would have been awesome if the entire community switched over to 3.2 immediately, but it certainly isn't necessary for the process we are currently taking the game through. Soon we'll get another round of feedback and we'll make 3.2 final and *continue* to balance it with the 3.2.x patches.
Look at it this way, there is generally more activity in NS 3.2 Beta than there is in many other fully released mods. There are mods trying to improve their game with less players than we have in the beta alone, don't sweat it guys, things are working out fine.

qft. this cannot be rejected when we consider about the whole population, but it is true for me. i play ns now if i am really bored and got nothing else to do.
The players that are left, are split in this list:
3.1 classic
3.2 classic
3.1 CO
3.2 CO
3.1 xmenu
3.2 xmenu
Then double the list with BS=1/0
The only reason people are complaining about no where to play and no one to play with is because they're all divided in so many styles of play that the community isn't large enough to support 12 different game styles. IMO release it publicly barring any major exploits because even if the balance isnt perfect it cannot be too far off from where 3.1 stood. Once again, IMO remove BS 1 to remove another divide that has been placed on the community. There are many reasons why BS fails at its purpose and only hurts the game although I would rather not talk about them to avoid another script thread.
If a few of these divides were removed "the community" to the perception of the players will almost double or more because there will be more common servers to play on with more players. The divides can only be fixed from the Devs because NS has no control over the plugin side of the community which will continue to do anything they want.
NS is just tearing itself into pieces and segregating itself.
Community is split so many ways even prior to the beta, with the beta the split almost doubled.

One thing that could go a long way to bridging the BS1/BS0 gap though.
If they made it so that holding down jump repeatedly jumped.
Like what Tribes 2 did to deal with "Ski Scripts"
Mix that in with +Movement, and you've that'd resolve most the conflict between BS1 and BS0
Fully automatic/burst firing pistol too.

Nah, all that you need for that is to just click quickly.
Bunnyhopping, there's quite a bit more involved than just spamming a single key/wheel.
I don't understand such negativity. There are more active beta2 servers than beta1 servers and there is more than enough beta2 activity for us to observe the impact of our changes. Of the top 10 nsp servers, 2 of them are still running beta1. One of them is korean ( we've always had difficulty communicating updates to the asian NS community. When we were running ns 3.1 cm testing, there was an active korean 3.0 beta3 server ).

I'm korean server deedlit's superadmin.

sorry, I can't speak english well.
I agree to Korean ns has communition problem to world user.
but It didn't anyone don't visit UW site.
Korean NS user visit UW site every day and reading all news.
Koean has 2 ns server.
one is my server (deedlit server) and run 3.2 beta 1
another is gambler server and that run 3.2 beta 2.
Why not run beta 2?
I repeat that hate beta2 patch what weaken DC
I think to DC nuff is big mistake NS developer.
and....
Korean server always run with plugin. that has effect to big game balancer.
it' origin to korean NS has dynamic energy.
and defalut server(gambler server) didn't join user.
Ns has big balance problem at 20 + game.
but I didn't say abut that at UW why I can't english well.
I proposal visit korean ns server and view plugin power.
even if we can't english well then we can show how to enjoy ns.
I think to Default ns is not hope why Ns developer's mistake.
6:6 balancing is not ns future. that's ns tomb.
I simply more servers to choose from and better ping. THen I can try Beta 2 and see how it handles.
I'll simply wait a bit longer until there are enough servers. In the mean time I'll continue with the current full version.
and i dont care what version
I repeat that hate beta2 patch what weaken DC

Not updating because you don't like the changes doesn't help anyone. There are always people who will like or dislike every single thing in the changelog and argue it to death. The only way to really see if the changes are good or bad is to have people play with them and players need servers. I know that a 100% adoption rate isn't realistic, but seriously, we need as big of a player base as we can get to adequately test the betas. You say NS isn't balanced for larger games, but how many servers do you see running beta 2 with more than 8v8 slots?

I think somebody allready mentioned that DC's in 3.2 are still better then in 3.1.
Now they're more effective if you place them around the map and not in huge stacks.
So...they would be much more usefull early game.
3.2 doesn't have xmenu so all the skilled players can't play it.

What does that mean that skilled players can't play because of no xmenu?
You honestly don't think a simple menu command creates a skill gap do you?
Ok Puzl, I will put him on ignore.
I want to play more games on lucid though. That map is hot.
Seriously, probably the only time I've played a new NS map and though "oh wow, this is awesome" rather then finding tonnes of problems and wishing we were on eclipse.
