<div class="IPBDescription">My first map... gah</div>This map takes place on an abandoned shipyard. The aliens have taken 3 major production areas, and the Marines board the ship's docking bay, to end the alien menace.

Please keep in mind- this is my FIRST serious attempt at mapping for anything, so point out what needs fixing, what I should watch out for, etc. Anyways, on with teh piccies!

    little bit too square and is it on a planet? how is there lava if it isn't?

    I would have said something similar, but in a nice way <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
    That looks pretty cool, but you do have to turn up the funky brush work about 300%, more suppports, and tiny red lights, and other things like that.

    @ Location: It takes place on an Orbital Shipyard. The two pipes were carrying melted iron to other areas of the station for parts creation, but one of the pipes broke and fell so the melted iron is spilled out along the bottom part of that area.

    @ Squareness: Thanks guys, I'll get to work on some Intersting architecture.

    Any comments on my lighting?

    I kinda like the lighting, although I suppose you could say it's not varied enough.

    It's very convenient that the pipe broke where there was a bridge just above that everyone uses to walk across anyway <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> - you could add some submerged poking above the 'lava' on the walls below the bridge, and ladders and steps leading into the 'lava' to get the point that it's a burst and leaking pipe across better

    What's wrong with being square? Some ships may have blocky designs.

    you might want to make some weldable cause another lava pipe somewhere else to break.

    Good point surge, ive yet to figure out why the biggest critique on map is "there to square" umm my house is square, where i work is square, my school was square, well most everywhere i go is ummmm square.

    As long as it looks good(detailed rooms that is) i dont see  the problem with square.

    Looks good to me, but for two things, The place where the pipe breaks throught the floor/grate looks to clean, make it mre ragged. And the ladder in the dropship doesint fit the overall atmosphere of the map. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    umm, i really really like the first screenies, that wall just looks cool, but the rest seems a bit square, i don´t really see much architecture, try breaking the squareness with columns with weird designs =).
    The hell room has a hella low ceiling, you should make it bigger, too much claustrophobia =).
    The lighting its good, the only thing that bothers me its the red thingie on the seats, there isnt any red light spots around it so it looks bad.
    Also i highly recommend you to tone down the brightness of all the lights so you can make some cool shadows =)

    Not bad, I like the lighting although it might be a bit better if you boosted the gamma.  I especially like the yellow/orange lighting near the "Hell room".  As stated before, your architecture is a bit blocky and cramped, but you know about that.

    I like it  , it looks good. Being that it is a ship yard , I lke the liquid steel affect. Very nice keep up the good work.
