Ignore the size <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> I want it small, if its too small i will make it bigger.

    What do you prefer?

Very nice, it's easy on the eyes, with neat color schemes. A simple, efficient design.

i prefer the first, but dont really like grey color for the background, maybe a nice green-brown, : D it would really freshen it up

I'm not liking that white next on the orange strip.

    What do you recommend then?

Text needs a 1 pixel black border. White bars too blurred, orange bar too blurred as well. Other than that, okay.

Erm... Like this? I think i prefer the old one..

The white bars arent blurred, they are actually a gradient that made a blurred bar like effect.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have to say that the fuzziness is disorienting. It makes me feel like I'm not focusing my eyes right, especially juxtaposed with the in-focus text.

Well, its better than just the usual, flat, or beveled bar..?

It's different, I'll give you that. Different can often be good. But I don't think this is a good different, because it makes my eyes wig out.

I couldnt figure out how to put my suggestions into words, so I just drew a pretty picture instead. I suggest more definition, ala:

Looks nice... BUT i don't like so much (or at all) bluring on a webpage. Thats just my opinion. The colors arent my cup of thea either.

That is what i mean, but don't listen all too much to me, iam just one out of... a lot.

You need to make it so that users can READ your website. White text on Orange is pretty hard to read, even for people with perfect eyesight with a good font. You also need to give your eyes a distinct eyeline along the information you wish them to see. On yours, the eyes are drawn along the two white blurry lines, rather than along the menu or to the title.

The colours work, but youve got them all blurring into one another. The font is too complicated for something as important as a menu. Your title section and body section, although seperated, have the same background color, which makes them bleed into one another.

How do you create your effect on the bars so well? I mean, it appears to be coming out at the top and have a shadow at the bottom.

Those are custom Layer Styles, although theyre just eas easy to do with gradients and overlay modes.

Where did you get the style from?
