I guess I'll do what I have to...

And even if she does forget about it tomorrow, I think I'll bring it up anyway; as you've all said, better to try and fail than to spend the rest of my life wondering...

Yeah dude I think you should try it out, if you do not think you have the guts to do it try to get siked(no friggin idea on spelling). If you are a very active person and am a bounce of the walls kind of guy(like me) its easy to get pumped. Start doing crap before, go climb the falg pole, run around being a moron, go crazy. It will give you an adreniline rush or something and tends to make you braver, be all up and out about it, be like "you know how I said i liked someone yesterday and you wanted to know, well the person that i like is you." its alot easier when you have someting to do, like me. Ive been in like the exact situation(yey! nerds trying to get girls yey!) it was alot easier for me to ask the person i liked to goto prom with me than going strait up and asking her to go out.

but its not all good news, cause I was just like rejected today (well kind of). Anyway it was a no prom. She isn't like all backed away from me now, I think she likes me kinda(praise all gods she does!!!). she was still all happy and talked to me and stuff, I'm a very upfront kind of guy. I didn't act like the world died or anything, just said calmly "ok" even though i was really like "OMG BS H4X! NOOO CANT BE!!!!" anyway im trying to get her msn name and talk her into going to prom, saying like "common you know you want to go. Its just prom, it'll be fun, etc"

wow I think I have successfully told my story also, lol. although I think im in alot better shape for it, kinda. Im either going to get her or get major turn down. you on the other hand will be like a little step up or a little step down. mines bigger gamble, bigger win and loss. your kind of a median. lol

Get to know her. Ask her out for like a walk round town or a park or something on a nice day - nothing major - just a little time together. See how it goes. Don't get hung up about it - be yourself and relaxed and enjoy uour time with her. Be confident. Expect her to say "yeah, sure". You don't need to ask for official "going out" rights. In the last 10 years, I don't think I've ever asked: "do you want to go out with me ?".

If that doesn't work, ask her if she wants to see your elephant impression. Works for me. Well, no it doesn't, but it would very funny and worth doing for the hell of it.

Good luck and enjoy.

If you take creeps advice, make sure you take a camera and get a shot of it.

Seriously you better be telling her.
Phrase it wittily or some such, Wildisms always get the girls yah.

Note - I've been single for nearly three years now, pay no attention to anything written above.

Don't tell her. God, imagine if she rejects you! How awful, humiliated, worthless would you feel? Bye wrists!

Lo mantrid,

I presume that, because you like her, you're really close friends etc she must be a nice person yes? In which case the very worst that can happen is that things could be slightly awkward between you for a few days and thats only if you seriously seriously screw it up. To stop that happening if she isn't interested just take it on the chin and be a man, "that's okay, we're still friends" etc. In fact you can always say that you were hesitant in telling her cos you didn't want to ruin the friendship and in a way your kinda relieved that your still just friends... whether its true or not it sounds good and is a nice way to say you don't mind.

But as someone said earlier (not sure who) women are far better than men at this kinda stuff and there is a good chance she already knows who it is. In fact my friend knew someone who fancied her and did exactly that until he finally came out with it (they broke up about 2 weeks later and are friends again but thats not the point).

Finally, you'd be surprised what can happen. I kinda fancied a mate of mine, we got drunk, I told her, stuff happened and the next day we were 'just friends' again. Same thing happened about a month later, then a few weeks... now we're just 'casual', Good friends who happen to get a bit randy every so often... it's great.

Actually, this is the finally section (I'd delete but I can't be bothered). Whatever happens you'll regret not doing it more than getting a rejection, least its out of the way then and you can move on. Not doing it means it'll hang around your neck like some evil flippin 10 ton albatross and it will colour any further attempt at asking a girl out from then on. It will be marked indelibly in your head as "the day I chickened out" and could possibly lead to some really nasty neurosis...

maybe you could just tell her that you want to be more than close friends or something like that, and look at her, if she hesitates (spelling ) just tell her
at that moment - but if you don't feel like me i prefer that we stay friends..

or something like this... good luck.

Probably becasue it pretty much happens to everyone; its something no matter where you live or what background you come from most people can empathise with.

I have seen quite a few posts from one side of the fence, so how about we switch sides for a second.

Since you simply want to know if you should tell her, I would go with the orginal line and simply use the "That girl is you" that actually works more then most men think. I shall renforce the fact you should also look her in the eye when you say so. That supposed air of confidence comes across very well when looking someone in the eye.

So, there you go and since you are quite young yet, enjoy the time you have with her whether it be friends or otherwise, because sometimes after high school your "friends" don't always remain so.

No... that's not my point. You're making a "mountain out of a molehill" to use an old cliche. It's a silly high school infatuation... stop dwelling on it! Just drop the angst and talk to her, if it's so important. But why the uncertainty? In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a "life changing" event.
• ObstObst Join Date: 2003-03-12 Member: 14436Members, Constellation
Different people react different to the same situation. Your posts ("drama", "just a...") don't show that you respect that he is another human being, not a copy of yourself. He comes here to ask for advice, not to be gunned down by "Your problems are unimportant" posts like yours.

btw yeah, tell her XD

I just came home, am tired as hell, my eyes and everything else hurts, but I can tell you a clear "yes". I had the same problem and thought I'd lose a friend if I told her about my feelings, but now... Now I think I could never live if I didn't do it.

Tell her. Good luck!
• BG_DaveBG_Dave Join Date: 2004-02-22 Member: 26779Members
TELL HER!!

most definitely...

the worst feeling you can wake up with, whether it be the day after, week after, month or year afterwards is... 'what if?' coz you will never know the answer to the question.

don't waste this chance and see her shack up with some ****...you will regret it soooooo much.

if you are *real* friends a simple 'yes' or 'no' from her would settle it and you wont lose eachother as friends.

^^ cwag's got it down.

consider this: she ditches you, goes after your best friend.

could you hang out with either of them knowing that the girl you
like is sleeping with your friend?

friends with girls you're interested in != good
