For the "weird texture alignment", if you're not resizing it or anything, use one of the aligning checkboxes(either to world or to face, whichever produces the best result).
or jsut turn it into a base texture <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
No one knwos how its meant to be aligned that way <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
This map is getting REALLY good! Keep at it! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ok make that last screenshot much darker, have most of the light coming from those green strips which are GLOWING and youve got a winner. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> You need to be using tex lights and much more contrast.
It's a nice looking map. In that screenshot of the infested hallway, I think the floor should look infested too, otherwise it looks like the aliens didn't feel like bacterializing the whole room.
Its still too bright, lighting is too uniform, where are the shadows! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Only one thing to add> Onos passability. Make sure they don't get stuck in every other room, just from trying to walk through... it's hideously annoying for the strongest being in the game to be unable to get out of a room ;O
The only place im having trouble with the onos is next to that computer, theres a box which is slightly too large for the onos to pass without jkumping or crouching.
You are updating your map with MONSTER SPEED. I bet it´s cele <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> (here starts the part of the message you don´t need to look at) I would notice you, to look at ns_origin.. the point is, the map consists(spelling?) of four areas(Mstart,Vent,Furn,bio) and all of them have heck of a different feeling. that makes good contrast. Do that and I´ll love your map as origin :E
its about 3 marines high from the ground, and can be seiged from behind the pillar anyway. As well as that little fact, im going to have another entrance at the wall jus the the right of the hive. (im doign big layout changes)
Mabye I should start workign on this map again, stupid morrowind had me distracted. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I think you should find a nice color theme for your map. What I can tell from these shots you have only used white lighting this far. It can be rather hard to find colors that fit with the yelgrey wall texture though. Once I accidently combined yellow texture with purple (or something between purple and red) and it gave kinda cool effect. Finding an appropriate lighting theme can greatly affect map's atmosphere.

Having been working much on the map at the moment, just updated the room I wa working on before.
The wll at the back will be removed, and will add on to more rooms etc.
Some updates, i've been away on holiday for a while and im in the process of adding more detail and tweaking the layout a little.
Somone please show me how to make a good door :'(
Corridor outside hive has r_speeds up to around 320. Looks real infested doesnt it?

Onos passability.
