so i decided to create something in hammer
that something was...
a Taiidan Ion Cannon Frigate
at first it seemed easy, then i discovered that the homeworld unit viewer is nowhere to be found online.
so i loaded homeworld, took some screenies, and did the best i could
near the end, i got so sick of vertex manipulation errors that i skipped "real"ness for "done"ness
anyway, here are the pics

but i have no clue how to get the sound effect of the ion cannon

I was thinking of doing one of these, actually a corvet. Wish i could remember the exact name, the one that specalises in shooting down fighters. The really complicated one...
Well anyway i was thinking of doing that a while ago but i got a tad distracted with another idea for a ship to put on my map. A Thunder Hawk Gunship from Warhammer 4k. Dont know how but ive got at most a w_poly count of 400.
And if yours is really that low then, How!? I really need to know cause mine probably got the same amount of vertex's.

You can see it when u look out of the windows.... after a selected time the shuttle cmoes down on a planet. There are the aliens. </i>

The good (The sence of it):</b>
<i>The two teams (marines and aliens) can built up all important things to evolove.
So the Marines are upgrading all and the Aliens are bulding up the 3 hives.
However, you know....
After the "downcoming" of the shuttle, the spawnpoint for marines is in the shuttle and you have to go out of the shuttle to fight against the damn aliens ^^.
The Alines start ever in the game on the planet. only the marines are in the shuttle...</i>

You dont can fight against your enemy before the shuttle comes down.
The Idea is simple to tell... you dont fight in upgradetimes... you are fighting in fullevoloved times and you fight on highest level.... ^^
It could be a ns_Map or co_Map.

The thing can't move or aim, so what was the problem?
it has 22 brushes (and the origin brush)

i beleive you mean the multi-gun corvette

it CAN aim (its a func_tanklaser) and it has a full sphere of range
It cant be a co_map, you wouldnt be able to get full upgrades then without killing anyone, and anyway it'd take you at least 20 mins before u even saw battle. Hives take a while to build. So im with DarkSeraph on that one.
Ye a multi gun, that'd be cool to make... a bloody nightmare but im gonna have a go at that somtime... if i ever finish owt im planning for maps.
So youd got all these plans for your map, have u actually made any part of it? Or should i say has your m8 made any of it yet?
