Look at CPL do think its all just for fun there? There is a degree of fun and a degree of seriousness, if you are looking for fun and like to take orders(and give them), this is the place for you. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> no i mean, it's like they're 'role playing' it or something. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> You mean like roleplaying a game where your the big bad marine that wants to kill the ferocious alien menace thats haunting the whole galaxy? Its not really role playing, the ranking system is in there for organization purposes, yes there is a little back story to it, but thats all in good fun. I held my first practice as an alien and it went pretty well.
last time i checked the site the about section was all jacked up and referenced another game...i really have no clue how this works even after reading a little...could someone give me a "reader's digest" version of what is going on...from what i gather you just play in a designated pub for whatever length of time and they keep scores of the wins or something.. ( i just don't see how it will work if they servers don't stay full and you are tied to one team i.e. aliens or reins)
We had our second scrim today, Aliens did a tremendous job of fighting off the marines and holding their ground. I am very proud to be the Prime of the alien forces. I encouraged anyone who wants to play large ORGANIZED games to sign up at <a href='http://www.battleforthegalaxy.com' target='_blank'>http://www.battleforthegalaxy.com</a>
Back in the day, when I was Alpha Generation leader. Great times they were, and I have noticed from the start of the tournament, the players who first started off as casual gamers or public players have improved a lot. BFTG is a great place for those who want to step up a notch and still have fun playing NS <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
We had significant results the second scrim on the Alien side. Casual players were for the most part following the orders that were given, and executing an organized strategy. The 8v8 format is good balance between the competitive atmosphere, and the large public server atmosphere. I am very pleased with my team with their ability to listen and execute to my orders.
This is what NS is designed for, Organized play, whether it be casual or competitive, this tournament is perfect for the NS design
