Most Annoying Act Of Stupidity Ever

Hey guys,
first of all this is a great game. Involving games that last for a good amount of
time, a lot of ppl using voice comm and communicating well to win and generally
not that many stupid ppl.
That is until last night......
I was playing on a server as a marine, only about 5 or 6 ppl on. This alien destroys
our command pod, but i had built another. So this guy switches teams and spawns
at our new base which i had set up.
So, I build some light gates and turrets and assign him to build them. What does he do?
He stands there at the command console and doesnt acknowledge me. So I get out to
build the stuff i had placed from the command pod.
While im doing this he has climbed into the command pod, and proceeded to RECYCLE
EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WE HAVE.
I have no idea whats happening as ive never seen stuff being recycled before, and by the time
we vote him out, he has recycled everything and built about 20 Turret factories and spawn portals.
He then tells the opposing team that he has done this, joins them and tells them to attack us.
Which they do. And we die.
Game Over. We goto the next map and I notice that he has joined marines again, and is in the commander seat. We eject him, again......
And his friend jumps in and proceeds to do the exact same thing.
The ppl on my team dont know whats happening so no one votes to eject him.
Around this time I left the game, very disgusted and angry that he ruined my game. All the while he was saying how fun it was....
Well, that was my rant. I hoped you enjoyed it and can now recognize when to eject the commander in time.

can't switch teams till next round manually
auto switch only when teams are unbalanced.
Changing comms in the middle of a game is generally a bad idea.
I dont really see how this can be addressed in a patch seeing as the means to eject
the commander are already in place.

It was my first time really playing as marines. The aliens had a good team so it was a challenge. We had a good commander. Naughty me, i can't remember his name. Anyway, this fool called Rico comes on and Immeadiately say, and I quote,
"Get out of teh CC n00b. I'm a better commander."
He then proceeds to start a vote and most of us scream
"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T VOTE HIM OFF!"
He had some buddies on the server though because our excellent commander got kicked and this laughable moron climbs in saying,
"Yea, now i'm the king of commanding! That n00b nevah even upgraded" (god knows what he was talking about because I believe we had a full tech tree.)
What does he do you ask? Nothing.... absolutely nothing. He refuses to give the people who didn't kick the old commander anything and builds nothing except a few phase gates we never really needed. Needless to say he was kicked straight away and most left in disgust. Those who stayed were treated to one of his mates climbing in and proceeding to take down some our turret defences. We voted him out and then I left.
Quoted from another message board: "The more people I meet, the more I love my dog."
Perhaps Flayra could code something that would only allow you to join one team, readyroom and spectator untill a new round starts (IE, not being able to goto the other team till a new round starts).
Unfortunatly - this could cause problems, such as 3 Marines dropping out of the game and having the Aliens with too many players.
Its one of those things though ...
damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Or reverse it so that if you were on the aliens you CAN'T be commander for some period of time. Otherwise players could still switch screw up the marines, then just stay on marines, or disconnect and reconnect. If you make it so they can't be commander for say, 10 minutes, i doubt they would switch and then just wait around ten minutes to do that.
or have a certain amount of waiting time before you can recycle another building?
The sensory chamber is just as good as the movement chamber or defensive chambers.
They all have good points, they all have draw backs.
No chamber is the wrong choice, none is the correct.

I like that idea..question is how hard to do and i dont think there would be a way around it, causs ya know some lil ppl always stay up past bed time and mess with us mature ppl *cough*
1. If you have commanded for the Marines, you may not join the Kharaa team for x minutes. (x = 30 minutes?)
2. If you have been on the Kharaa team, you cannot command for the Marines for x minutes (x = 30 minutes?)
3. If you have just become the Commander, you can not recycle previously built buildings for x minutes (not sure I like this one)
and a couple of my own ideas:
4. Items 1-3 are tracked by WONid so you can not log off the server and 'reset' the counters then log back on and enjoy the fruits of your mischief.
5. A check for 'malicious recycling' could be made, if you have x resources and the commander has recycled y resources rapidly, he is ejected. So if you already have 500 resources and the commander suddenly recycles 10 buildings back to back, the system recognizes what he's doing and boots him out of the CC.
6. A commander can never recycle the next-to-last CC. This prevents him from allowing the Kharaa to destroy the one he's in while he's gotten rid of all the other ones.
I decide to stick around, and someone else gets in, and builds two phase gates, both RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER, in our main base no less. In fact, he was going to make a third right next to them as well, but no one built it and it eventually got destroyed. It almost got worse, as he let resources pile up. What does he do? Build four Arms Labs of course.
By this time we were officially screwed, and someone else somewhat decent got in, but figured that our last alternative was to build nothing but a billion turrets in our base. What a long horrifying game that was.
3. If you have just become the Commander, you can not recycle previously built buildings for x minutes (not sure I like this one)

Actually by that, i mean, the same commander who just recycled something can not recycle another building for another x amount of time... kind of like, it takes time to evolve into a gorg... commander takes time to recycle buildings...?

Hmmm I donno about all these things.
1 and 2 I like but you have to also remember that in most situations this can be a huge pain. I don't want to explain all and I'm sure you can see why.
#3 I definatly do not agree with. What happens if some llama gets in first and puts down a ton of non-escential items. Like 20 armories. You want to be able to go into the command console and recycle all that stuff. If not you waste valuable time. Expecially at the beginning of a game.
#5 -- Me likes
#6 -- Hrmmm what if you need the resources and decide that second CC is just a waste?
Most of these are good suggestions but you also ahve to think that A LOT of the community is going to be some sort of clan/group/team. Some of these could get in the way of clans that know what they're doing and need it done that way for reasons that only time can tell.
One guy went commanding and I was the marine who just followed his orders. It worked out brilliantly because we both learnt heaps about the game really quickly. Unfortunately, after about an hour, so (&T*(^%*&(*&(*%$%%$#$&&%^*((^*&^()*$&^$#%$&$^& came into the server and started a vote to kick the commander. The kick succeeded for some stupid reason (perhaps comm's opinion doesn' matter in a kick, so it was 50/50 between the guy who vote the comm out and me who didn't vote and instead hurled abuse at the newcomer.
What got me even more annoyed was that as soon as the vote passed the new-comer left again. I saw him a few more times, doing the same thing, so I guess his gig was just to go round kicking commanders for the hell of it...
Is there anyway to vote "no" against comms kick, or does not voting count as "no"?
Ah what do I care, I play aliens now anyway...
